How to you prepare for long plane rides so you don't get bored?

bring books and or mp3 player. you start getting bored around 4 hrs in. there should be inflight movies they generally keep me entertained.
wear something comfy, no tight jeans!

get sudokus or wordsearches too. not always exciting but anything to keep you busy.

bring a travel pillow, you cant always sleep depending on when the flight is but if you can time flies.

make sure you have batteries/ things are charged

Iv always wanted to bring a portable dvd player or laptop with me for dvds - but you'd need an extra battery

get a book, music is a must, your own music... get your own headphones, the headphones on planes suck... if you have hw, do that... if you have a window seat, look out the window, keep your face plastered to it... also sleep...

CHARGE YOUR IPOD!!!!! Some long flights also have touch screen game hooked to the seat in front of you, including free plane wide trivia.

Try Reading a book to relax.

Try to sleep on the plane , if it is a very long flight try walking around the plane (if you can) talk to other people I found that older people love to talk and some have great stories to tell. Most long flights have newspapers and other reading material . There is also movies on the flight some have video games if you have personal video screens. If it is light out side look out the window ( I get a widow seat ) depending on where yo are flying you can see some fun stuff.

Generally I bring along something to keep me occupied(i.e. portable dvd players, ipod, or a good book). Travel with friends(family) or someone you can conversate with. Finally, another trick, is to stay up the night before the flight, and then, you can sleep on the plane. Some of these tricks I use at my job, as it is utterly boring!!

Or bring an iPod, DVD player, Laptop/Notebook/Netbook (whichever variety you choose to name, but disable wireless before you get on the plane.), or other non-internet entertaining electronic device.

Definitely sleep on the plane. Take some Dramamine to help make you drowsy and also helps with motion sickness or 1 or 2 tablets of benedryl.
Also bring a magazine or a good book. If you're lucky you'll be on a plane with entertainment like movies and tv-shows. Sudoku is also a good past time.
