Since your flight is SO short, DON'T bother with alcohol or sleeping pills! You will need MORE detox time than a two-hour flight provides to get that cr@p OUT of your system after you've landed at your destination.
If you need SOMETHING to cope with the issue, take your ipod with you. If you can take a DVD player with you, use that!
Practice being able to clear your ears: pinch your nose shut while your mouth is closed and blow. If you hear your ears "crack" then you are doing it fine!
You will need to do this to stabilize the pressure in your ears as the plane descends. When going up, all you will need to do is to chew some gum to stablize the pressure in your inner ears. That usually works on the way up, and do the nose thing on the way down.
Don't let the noises that the plane makes freak you! You CAN get concerned, if the plane gets inverted! Ignore the rest of the sounds. They, either, are flaps being adjusted or landing gear being stowed or let down, OTW no big deal. You WANT these things to be happening! *grin* |

Flying is the safest form of transport. You more likely to die in the car on the way to the airport than in a plane crash. |

its brilliant, enjoy it to the max, i remember before the days of high security you could go see the cockpit, and the view was incredible. Fluffy white clouds as far as the eye can see and its always bright and sunny! No clouds above the clouds. Its smooth and fast, definitly the best way to travel. |

it not as bad as you think. The first time that I flew, I was terrified before I got on the plane. Just dont look out the window as much, chew some gum of snack to help keep your ears from poping. Read a book/listen to music/or hold a friendly conversation with your neighbor. then remember, just be glad your not flying overseas. Another thing is, dont be afraid of turbulance. If the plane bumps a little when you go over water or something like that, its normal. |

Think of it as a really big flying limo.
The pilots do all the work for you, the cabin crew serve you drinks, and wait on you... You just sit and relax!
THOUSANDS of people fly every day, and they're fine, right?
If you are really nervous (which there is really no need to be) just talk to the cabin crew as you board the aircraft; they are specially trained to assist nervous passengers.
Do you know what aircraft it is?
If so, look at this site. It tells you about good / bad places to sit. http://www.seatguru.com/
Ask the check-in staff if you can sit towards the front of the plane, it's less noisy in front of the engines!
Have fun! I wish I was going!

The following thought were passed down to me in 1967 by a friend just before my first flight.
Remember these thoughts just before your first flight;
The longest week is the one just before you are due to leave.
The longest day is the one just before you are due to leave.
The longest hour is the one just before you get to the airport.
The longest minute is the one just before you get through security.
The longest second is saying good-bye before you board.
The longest scare is when you buckle in your seat.
The longest body shake is when the start the engines.
The longest time in the air is just before you land.
The longest boring time spent is reading this message.
Look at all the time you wasted just being bored when you look back how your flight really was. No need to be uneasy and anxious. Those two hours were really just boring so sit back and look at it as reading a boring book. Try to enjoy the flight and remember the good things about it. |

Enjoy it - most dangerous is the trip to the airport. |

It's normal to be a little bit nervous. At least it's not a very long flight! Take lots of slow, deep breaths whenever you start to feel anxious. Bring a book or magazine or something along to distract you. You can do it! |

Just relax and enjoy your flight! You will prorbaly get a bit uneasy when taking off due to cabin pressure but everything should be fine. Nothing to be afraid/ anxious about. Take with you some music or magazines to keep your mind off everything. Happy travelling! :) |

Sometimes, there's very cute guys in the plane ;) *winks* hehe... that should help you relax !! lol .
hmm... well... honestly just try to fall asleep...listen to music and try to daydream... so that you dont really think about it...
don't worry...just pray to God nothing will happen... and if it does then oh well, we all die !! LOL i'm just kidding. honestly relax once you're on it you'll realize it's not that bad.
Good luck and have fun.

Get really excited about where you are flying to. Plane rides are so fun. Once you are in the air, its cake. You dont even no you are up there. Bring a mp3 player. Or if its your nerves maybe you need medication to calm your nerves.
Think about how many people fly everyday, all ages too. from 1years old to 100 years old.
Nothing is going to happen to you.
You will be fine. |

For the new flyer the worst parts are taking off and landing, just try to take deep breaths duing these two parts. And remember that it's supposed to be very loud and the plane may shake but that's normal. Remind yourself that plane crashes are extremely rare and you're more likely to be in a car accident, which I"m sure you are in cars everyday, then in a plane. Hope that helps. |

Ok, imagine you are sitting on a bus...read, listen to music or a movie if you have one - keep yourself distracted and be assured that apart from a possible little bit of turbulence, you are safe!!! Alternatively, you could take a Valium...alcohol would just heighten your anxiety. |

I just had my first plane ride experience last September. I was super nervous. it was around 9am so my friends that were with me and I had a Mimosa. Its a morning drink with champagne and orange juice. no more than one cup is probably a good idea. just take deep breaths when your about to take off. once your in the air you will be fine. |

it is just a short flight ,realize that it is safer to fly than it is to drive. hundreds of people die every day in car crashes. the last plane crash was months ago and there are tens of thousands of flights a day worldwide. relax and enjoy the flight. i have flown hundreds of flight all over the world never had a problem |

Just sit by the window and look out of it! It's frickin' awesome.
And remember to chew gum if you're not used to it since it helps with the air pressure. |

get some music, reading a book might just give you a headache. sleeping works ok (kinda uncomfortable) so enjoying the view or listening to music is your best option. |

It's not as scary as you think. I would suggest bringing a sweater or a light jacket. Don't bring lotion in your carry on bag or bottled water or they'll confiscate it at security. |

I love to LMFAO :D
 |
Awww, I remember the first time I went on a plane, I was sooo excited :)
Just remember, when the plane is taking off remember to chew something, like a chewy sweet to stop your ears from popping
Good luck and have loads of fun!! :) |

ok first thing...buy chewing gum and chew it when you take off and when you land. because your ears will pop because of the elevation and it will hurt. maybe not alot but it could hurt if your ear doesn't pop right away...that's what happened to me...i started crying it hurt so bad. but it's not that scary.
flying is pretty fun. as long as you sleep. or stay busy. plane's are crowded so that's not that great. but i suggest sleeping. it's a good experience everything will be fine. have fun. |

basically take deep breaths mand dont think about what you're doing, just switch yourself onto 'auto'.
you get on the plane you sit there you get off when you land.
that's it. don't think of worst case scenarios.
think of it simply.

Its really cool actually. I had a two hour flight several weeks ago; believe me that goes by fast. When they say a flight takes from 11am-1pm they are calculating in the boarding so its actually less time in the air.
Just enjoy it. Once you're up there its great. On every flight I've ever taken the pilot has that very calming "I know what I'm doing, don't worry" tone in his/her voice which I'm convinced is to put people at ease.
The only parts of the flight you'll really notice are the take off and landing. The jet has to go about 180 mph to get off the ground and its VERY powerful. You'll feel it and hear it, but its not bad. Within seconds you'll see it raising off the ground and the next thing you know, everything is tiny! Even though the plane does between 500 and 600mph in the air you can't tell its moving because you don't have anything to judge it against. Its like sitting in a big room. The only thing that can make a flight feel uncomfortable is turbulence do to weather; it feels like an old car driving down an old gravel road. Its not dangerous though and doesn't always happen.
Most flights these days have a TV in the back of every seat; you can watch cable or listen to satellite radio.
Have fun! |

It's a little nerve wracking taking off, but once you are up it is smooth sailing. Bring a good book to read, an ipod for music or whatever you think will relax you. You might also want to bring a snack and some gum to unpop your ears on takeoff. |

alright I just flew for the first time on an 12 hour flight, honestly I thought it would be one of the worst experiances of my life, but it wasnt.
when you are taking off and landing try chewing some gum that way your ears dont pop too much.
and if you get scared close your eyes and think of someone or something that makes you happy.
good luck. |

I wouldn't take something to make you sleep because your trip is too short . I only take Ambien when I go to Asia because it takes me 13.5 hours . I hate to constantly look at the clock . I would take a good book or mp3 to pass time . It is also good if your flight is delayed you have something to pass the time . ( Sorry, could not give you a Doctoral thesis like some but thought I would just give you a simple answer ) , Anyway , It will be over before you know it ! ( Smile) |
