It varies depending on what airline you are using, and what airport you are flying out of, but the general rules can all be found on the TSA website.

if you plan on having them in your carry-on
1. All liquids, gels, and aerosols must be in a container no bigger than 3 oz.
2. all of these containers must fit in a quart-sized zip-top clear plastic bag (the sandwich sized ziplocks)
3. the ziplock bag should be removed from your carry-on when being sent through the x-ray

you need to take off your shoes and jacket when walking through the metal detector, and they should also be sent through the x-ray machine.

if you want to know about something specific, there is a list of items that are/aren't allowed on the website.

I'm doing an international flight next Saturday, and tsa.gov and the airlines I'm using webpages are really helpful.
Seriously, just look on tsa.gov. It says what to do and what to bring and what to leave behind.

In the Uk, the rules aren't as strict. However, I have flown from 5 UK airports in the last year and the rules differ so you should call them

Depending on your airline you might be charged per bag you get checked and you can't bring more than 3 oz per lotion shampoo ect. in the bottle and those have to be in a ziploc bag. And you can't bring more than like 20 oz overall. It's crazy now. Good luck!!!

no guns, bombs or richard simmons.

If you mean the new rules about checked baggage, there are different rules on different airlines. Also different rules for coach, business, and first.

Compared to the price of tickets, it is a nominal amount. I mean if you've spent $4,000 on your ticket is $40 (15 for first bag 25 for second on United) really a big deal?

If you mean the rules about liquids, it only applies to you carry on luggage, and it's a quart size clear plastic bag, 1 only, and you must remove it from your bag to send it through security. Also the bottles must be 100ml or smaller.

i was wondering the same thing accutally. cuz im going on a plane tomorrow. i packed my razor and hairspray and all my shampoos. if anyone knows about what you can and cannot bring..email me please

One thing is you can't bring any liquids with you. Of course, no metal. 1 suitcase per person. One carry on bag and one personal item can be brought on the plane. Have a good trip.

I went interstate last month and dscovered that I can't take a metal nail file or nail scissors!

Also deoderant bottles have to be a certain size, depending whether it's in your main luggage or the bag you take on the plane

Where abouts in the world are you? Different regulations are for different countries

?
Check your airline's & the TSA'a website

FYI I flew to Reno Nevada from Houston & back & YES you can carry lighters now. Also you can have fingernail clippers. I even had a Swiss Army knife on my keychain & it wasn't confiscated. Neither were my Zig Zags LOL.

True1480
No liquids or box cutters

**LoViNg*
COULD ONLY BRING 1 BAG

JoAnna
You cant bring on the plain anything sharp. even nail clippers arent aloud.
You can carry any liquids on that are in a 3 oz. container. Make sure you put them in a ziplock bag.
I suggest that you dont wear jewrly because its a pain to have to take it off and stuff.

Aubrey
no liquids about 3oz and any liquids in 3oz or smaller bottles have to be put in a liter ziploc bag.
no lighters.

He said She said Who Said that?
Okay here is a solution
get some others together and rent a neat car.
split the cost and have a ball! meet each other after
the vacation time winds down and have a blast
at a fraction of the usual cost!

Bronzo
No Liquids (unless its under an ounce and in a zip lock bag)
No nail files
No Nail Clippers
No weapons (thats a given)
No food
No bottled water
And anythign that is in your carryon (eg. Makeup) has to all be put in Ziplock plastic bags!

MusicFan/TwilightFan!!!
YOU CAN'T BRING ANY LIQUIDS OVER 3 OZ. IN YOUR CARRY ON NOTHING HIGHLY FLAMMIBLE IN YOUR CARRY ON NO LIGHTERS OR RAZORS. ALL LIQIDS HAVE TO BE IN A QUARTER ALLON ZIPLOCK BAG
