i am training to be a pilot
and the amount of safety features on modern airliner is impressive every important system in the aircraft has two three four back up systems flying is as far as i can see safest form of transport
don't worries nothing will happen its so unlikely that something could happen that its not worth thinking about |

Please ignore the idiots who think that fear of flying is funny. It isn't. It is a very real condition.
I suppose that quoting statistics at you won't make you feel any better, so I won't. But flying really is the safest form of transport. You're at more risk on the airport bus, especially in Turkey.
First Choice Airlines are as safe as any other British registered airline. Their crews and aircraft Must be trained and maintained to the highest international standards by law. This is more than can be said for some cheapskate foreign airlines (European ones are ok).
You will be flying in a very safe machine. First Choice's fleet is quite new too. The pilots and crew will be as good as you can get and you'll be flying through airspace controlled by some of the best Air Traffic Control systems in the World.
Always remember that the bod sitting in the front won't do anything to jeopardise himself. He'd get the sack if he did!
The only thing I'd say against First Choice is that they don't have the most comfortable seats. British Airways is much better is you want a comfy snooze during your flight. Remember to drink plenty of water. Flying dehydrates you and drinking water of fruit juice (I prefer apple juice for flying) will prevent headaches and help keep you 'cool'.
Whatever else you might do, or whatever any people may say to you - DO NOT drink ANY alchohol AT ALL, before or during your flight. Not even a "small brandy".
If you are nervous then alchohol will not help unless you have a lot of it, and the check in people probably will not let you on board if they smell it on your breath.
It's against the law to be intoxicated on board an aeroplane, and the airlines tend to consider anyone who is nervous and smelling of booze as a risky passenger. You could loose your holiday flight and you will not get your money back because they'll consider it to be your fault.
Take a good book and read it assiduously before and during your flight. The time will soon pass.
Enjoy. |

my daughter had the same fears as you have just a few weeks ago...and she is now enjoying her holiday in Florida......
just try to remember that every security check possible are carried out on the aeroplanes and air travel is still the safest way to travel.
these programmes you watch.....dont watch them! but remember anything that went wrong on any of those flights will have now been rectified so that they never happen again !
Happy Hols ! |

air travel per person has lost alot less than any other mode of transport for the # of people it carriers. far more people are injured or die in car accidents than in air travel. its the safest mode of transport in the world safer than walking in some places. |

Quite a few pilots and flight attendants have retired over the years. The vast majority of flights are safe. If this weren't true, the industry wouldn't thrive (sort of) like it does. |

in fact the best airport to fly from is one that as had a crash earlier in the day because the chances of two crashes at the same airport in one day are astronomical I do believe in the history of flight it as never happened |

you have more chance of being struck by lightning than to be killed in a plan crash have a great time |

If you are going to crash you have picked the finest airline to do so. I hear Glasgow is rough and Turkey has earthquakes so you are used to living on the edge. Have a nice birthday, at least you are sure of this one. |
