Yes. As of August 4, 2007, in an effort to concentrate resources on detecting explosive threats, TSA will no longer ban common lighters in carry-on luggage. Torch lighters remain banned in carry-ons. |

Go to a bar in the airport and ask for a pack of matches. The smoking rooms in airports are pretty nasty, you may not want to smoke anyway. |

I read that they were going to let people take these on again but not sure if they started it yet. Call the airline. |

yes you can, they changed the rules so that you can carry one on with you. You can go to tsa.gov to check for your self!!
I work for an airline and have to answer this question everyday! |

It depends on what kind of lighter that you was going to carry. What I would do if I was you would be to carry I throw away lighter and some matches for just in case that your lighter gets caught. The torch lighter is still not allowed on the plane and you are still allowed to carry up to only four books of matches. |

No you can't but I accidentally went through with 2 cause I didn't know I wasn't allowed. The absconded the one from my purse but they didn't notice the one in my suitcase. You can take matches though. |

No, no lighter, no matches. Guess they want you to rub two sticks together. |

TSA has banned lighters from being carried onto a commercial airplane... |

No. You may not carry matches or a butane lighter on board the aircraft. I also work for an airline and haven't seen the change yet. It may not have made it to our airport! Consider it a headstart on quitting... :) |

No they won't let you take it on at all and if you try they'll just take it away, I had this problem at an airport once, I just asked one of the airport employees where I can buy one, luckily she was a smoker and had one, so she let me borrow it, so just ask around... |

yes, but they will take it from you at the security gate. So... nope. You can however take a pack of matches and put them in your pocket. there is one caveat, matches aren't allowed either and if they find them they will take them. |
