I am afraid to travel alone because I keep thinking that something might happen to the airplane.?

This is my first time travelling alone and I am a minor, but for some reason I am afraid that something might happen on the way their. I am going to Canada but what should I do? I am going to go in two weeks. Everyone I know that has travelled alone isn't as scared as I am but what should I do. If I ask my parents they probably will think it is a silly question. I know that nothing will happen or atleast won't but I guess I am scaring myself. What should I do?

Flying is safer than driving. More people are in car accidents than plane crashes.

When I first flew alone I was 11 years old and I was a bit nervous. Bring a movie for the plane ride because that will take your mind off the flight. If you aren't comfortable with something, ask a Flight Attendant they are very courteous in these situations. Enjoy the flight and before you know it you will land! HAPPY TRAVELS!!!

there are some pills you can take to relax you and it stops the part of the brain that causes this fear

they are made specialy for people who travel alot (via airplane)

you should look them up cause im not sure what they are called

but my brother takes them and he says they work and they are safe = ]

There are millions of flights everyday, and they land safely.
Calm your fears, pack a lunch, their foods crap, and take a
bottle of unopened drinking water if allowed. do not drink the
the tap water on the plane, or order a canned beverage.

Sweetie, it won't happen - I PROMISE you. When was the last time you heard of something happening to an aeroplane? I can't think of anything recently, but even if one plane crashed in the world every single day (which quite obviously doesn't happen), just think about all the hundreds of thousands of flights that take off every day across the world - why would that one crashed flight be yours?

Does that put it in perspective? It should. Try to relax, tell your parents how you are feeling and they will surely do their best to reassure you. They shouldn't think it's silly, you are their little girl, however old you! Talk to the cabin crew when you get on the plane - you should find that one of them has been assigned to help you anyway. They will be sympathetic too, and they will look after you and keep you occupied during the journey. Good luck and have a great flight!!

Driving is a lot more dangerous than flying..

I am an Avid traveler....I first flew alone at 10 yrs old...I've been flying around the world for many years now....(Longest flight being 14 hours in one shot).

I can see why you may have this fear but you must learn to relax and keep cool and just think these planes do this every day....it may be the first time for you....but not for the plane...nor the pilot nor the flight attendants...and things will be alright.

It is ok to be scared but once your in the air and just keep it cool....you will see there is nothing to it....Everything for the first time is intimidating....but you will get over it.

Enjoy your time in Canada!

You can tell yourself that you will be safe on the plane.

You probably will have a flight attendant helping you out anyways, so you have nothing to be scared of. They will take care of you.

you are just thinking the worst that's why you are getting ahead of yourself freakin out. you need to start thinking positive and everything will come out smooth in the end, then your gonna feel silly that you got worked up for nothin.
just read a book or do a puzzle to keep your mind occupied. you will meet people on the plane whom you can talk to i'm sure.
enjoy your stay in Canada that is where i am from.
