no drugs or drinks. stay up all night and go to the airport without any sleep. by the time your get in your seat on the plan, you will fall asleep before your even off the ground. you will never even know your on a plane. this help me.

It looks like the last major crash they had was in 2003, killing everyone on board.

http://www.airsafe.com/events/airlines/usair.htm

If you look on http://www.planecrashinfo.com/ they have listings of current plane crashes. Typically there is one plane crash every week, but most of these are almost always in third world countries and very rarely an American airline. The Last Words page on this site is also interesting:

although the odds of disaster is very small you still have every reason to be concerned ,given so many people on the move and no idea who's who.Take a good shot of scotch and go for it.

the odds of anything happening bad on planes tomorrow is like 1 in a billion, the odds of something fatal happening on planes tomorrow is like 1 in a trillion, the odds of something happening on your plane is like one in a zillion. Remember, there are THOUSANDS of airplanes in the air at once, it is very rare for something to go wrong, and if something does, it is usually minor and it would rarely happen to you.
Airports have very good security, don't be afraid.

Bring a GREAT book. An hour will go by faster than you realize... Try flying for 7 hrs! lol... no, don't! lol I love to fly, and enjoy watching the sky and land go by... you can even see storms off in the distance! lol

Stay calm and try to relax! It will be over before you know it!

You have a higher chance of dying in a car accident then any sort of plane crash or terrorist attack. Don't worry you will be fine. I fly at least once a month and have never experienced anything worse than some mild turbulence.

I have flown on U.S. airways and survived every crash. Just kidding, (sorry, that was kinda mean) But kidding aside, I flew U.S. Airways back and forth between Italy and the U.S. many times and never had a problem. Mind you, it's not the most comfortable airline out there (as far as service and seating is concerned) but they have a really good track record for safety. (As most U.S. airlines do) And to try to put your worries aside (hopefully) Air travel is statistically the safest mode of travel. You are more likely to get hurt on your way to the airport than on the flight. I hope this helps (and you will forgive my joke at the begining) I'm a former paratrooper in the U.S. Army. I like leaning over to the guy next to me and saying "you know I have a tendancy to jump out of these things" then I just go back to sitting there. Be glad you won't be sitting next to me! LOL! If this doesn't help, try talking to a doctor and getting some anxeiety (SP?) pills. That's what one of my friends does. (He still jumps out of them!) Again, hope this helps!

Of coarse flying is dangerous. Your plain is made out of flimsy metal, the plains are way over packed with passengers, they don’t renew the air anymore (thanks to the non-smoking ban), they give you a lifejacket (which deflates overtime) in stead of a parachute and the only reason it is statically safer than crossing the road is because you cross the road more times that you fly a bloody airplane. You will probably be flying in a cheap plain which resembles a mini copper with wings attached, be so close to the pilot that you can talk to him and we will probably be taxiing out of the run way by asking the other passengers to “Keep their heads down” while he sees where he is going.
