It's definitely ok. They ask your age not to know if you are old enough to travel by yourself, but to see what type of ticket you are purchasing. I am a travel agent and I know that minors from 12-17 years old pay the same price for a ticket as adults 18 and above. Generally, websites will ask you if you are a minor between 2-12 years old, or an adult above 18. They rarely have an option for minors between 12-17 years old, but if you are a minor and you are purchasing a ticket, you did the right thing purchasing an adult ticket...You shouldn't have any problems at the airport...I hope my answer helped you. |

Don't you think that when you show them your ID at the airport that they will figure out that you lied????? |

Get ready for a long wait at the airport when they check your ID and find out you lied. They'll have to call your parents, and probably you won't be allowed to fly. |

What kind of ticket did you buy? A concert ticket is ok. A airline ticket your asking for trouble. |

If you bought an airline ticket and lied about your age, that's a problem, since ALL airlines are required by Federal law to get photo ID from ALL passengers over the age of I think it's 13 years old. If this is what you did, you need to let your parents know to contact the airline, plead stupid about the age (call it a typo or something) and ask how to give consent for you to travel alone. |

Well, they will check ID. How much of a minor are you?
I think you must be 16 with legal ID to travel alone. |

I don't think so. I'd just have an adult buy it for you, it makes things go so much easier, and you don't feel like a felon afterwards. |

You should be OK, but I would call the airline now to clarify. |

The issue isn't "how old is old enough to fly by yourself at your own choosing?" The issue is providing wrong information that will not match your ID. This is a problem. You will need to pay the ticket change fee, if you did indeed buy a changeable ticket, plus any additional airfare. Ticket change fees for domestic flights are typically $100 to $150. Additional airfare will only go up as the travel date gets closer.
I guess you weren't as grown up as you thought. Live and learn. |

Depends what it's for! Haha, really, you'll probably only get into trouble with that if you're buying porn. =P But if it's something like a ticket, I don't think anyone would actually press charges. Also, if someone DID decide to press charges, all you'd have to do is get a parent/guardian to say that they approved your purchase.
[( I'm guessing it was a concert ticket...<_< )] |
