Sorry to hear about that. You might want to call the airline and see what they say. Non-refundable tickets usually can be transfered to other destinations within a year and you would loose about 100-200 dollars pending on fare...but at least you have a year after original travel date and its not all gone. |

No if its nonrefundable the most you can get back is a credit to use the ticket within a year of the original purchase date, and to do that you usually have to pay a change fee of $100 per ticket. Also most tickets are nontransferable so the only person who could ever use it is the person whose name is on it. Since your ticket is already paid for just go and enjoy your vacation. Try looking into finding a cheaper hotel to cut down on costs. |

I'm afraid you're out of luck to get a full refund unless you sell them on e-bay and pay for changing the name on the ticket.
You can try calling the airline . You may get part of the taxes back if you're lucky.
My parents had to cancel a trip a few weeks ago due to illness and the airline tickets were non refundable. The airlines "Air France" and "KLM" refused to refund taxes and wouldn't give them a credit for a futur trip.
They hadn't purchased travel insurance for that part of their trip.
Good luck |

Take it from me it is pretty much impossible to get a non-refundable ticket refunded. Also tickets on just about every airline are NONTRANSFERABLE so you can not sell them on eBay! You do not want to mess around with the FAA not worth it. Sorry I just don't know where people come up with this stuff. Even if your ticket is transferable it is just a credit that could be applied to a new trip and there is a penalty. Another person can not just go in your place.
You need to call the airline and find out if your ticket is transferable and if so what the restrictions are. If it is transferable you are best trying to sell it for say 75% of value to someone you know for cash. When you buy a ticket you agree to terms and conditions pretty sure it says something in there about re-sale specifically. |

it's non refundable and non transferable. your ticket is valid for one year from the date it was issued. before the expiration date which is within a year of issuance, you can make changes for a fee of $100.00. |

I work for America Airlines. On a non refundable ticket the normal for this is no their is no way of getting you money back on the ticket. The only way around the rule is if there is a death or if you are sick and have a doctors note. The only thing about this is it dose take 2 to 3 months after all the doc the air line is requesting for have been received.
On the up side if you can't go on your trip the ticket you have should be reusable thou. Sorry. Hope this helps out. |

Unless you find someone to buy your ticket privately, on ebay or in the new paper - I think you are stuck with the loss. Sorry to hear you lost your job. Hope you find another one soon. |

Have you received the tickets yet? If not, you can threaten to deny the credit card charges. I used to work for an airline ticket sales company, and people did that all the time and got their money back. |

Try to resell the tickets, maybe on EBay. Ask someone on Yahoo! Answers! LOL You might have to take a loss on it as well, just to get back some of the money at all. Good luck! |
