Your daughter will be fine. She does not need an ID, however, it is always a good idea to have one.

If people would bother to read the TSA website they would see that an ID is not required to board a domestic flight. In the absence of proper ID passengers must submit to additional screening. A passport is not needed to fly within the US (which includes Hawaii and Alaska as they are states) as long as you are a US citizen.

From the TSA website http://www.tsa.dhs.gov/travelers/airtravel/assistant/index.shtm:
We encourage each adult traveler to keep his/her airline boarding pass and government-issued photo ID available until exiting the security checkpoint (children are not required to show identification). The absence of proper identification will result in additional screening.

Yes she will be able to. One time I lost my license at the casino 2 days before my flight (luckily I was able to get it!) however I found out that I would be able to use my student ID - I would just have to go through extra screening.

Ages 15-17 government issued ID required when NOT travelling with an adult.
Ages 15-17 no ID is required from the child if travelling with an adult.
Up to age 14, no ID required to go through security, although ID will be required by the adult picking up the child.

Yes because it is withing the states and she is under the age she can fly wthout an ID. Now the parent can escort her throught the security check point with a gate pass issued from the airline. That will prevent the daughther from being a secondary passenger. Meaning she will not get additional screening because she didn't have an ID.

you need to call the airline. its possible she can if its an internal flight. but you do need to call to double check.

Tash
No. A student ID will not cut it. She needs either a government issued photo ID, like a passport or ID card from the DMV, or a combination of 2 government issued forms of ID, such as a social security card AND birth certificate. Different airlines may have different requirements, so call or check their website for more details.
