It depends for everyone, but I really LOVE being up in the air and flying. But landing and taking off? Not so fun. There's a lot of pressure on you and my ears start to hurt a lot of the time. But what helps that is chewing gum. ;)
The airport is a whole other story. A bit scary, but... Well. Just don't take anything liquid whatsoever over three ounces carry-on or in luggage because they'll take it away from you. Don't wear metal either.
Depending on the air line your traveling they serve can bring some snacks and there's an airplane tray that you can pull down and well, I draw but you can also go on the computer.
If you can get a window seat that would be good. You get AMAZING views and it helps me to distract me and calm me down when I'm nervous etc. But then it's harder to go bathroom.
The toilets in airplanes are weird. It took me so long to fine the, err, flusher the first time I flew.
GOOD LUCK! |

You have to find the gate that you're getting onto the plane from. You go through the security. Don't forget to take off any belts you might be wearing and toe rings and such! If you pass security you go to your gate and wait until they allow you to load the plane. You give your ticket to the ticket person and go through a suspended tunnel onto the plane. Find your seat and relax. When your flight is scheduled to actually liftoff you'll feel the plane moving and it might be bumpy. You'll get told how to wear your seatbelt by the flight stewardess and told what to do in case of an emergency. The Captain might say some stuff over the loudspeaker such as, "This is your Captain and we're headed off for a lovely flight from Rhode Island to Florida..." You'll feel the plane increasing in speed and you will be forced backwards in your seat. Relax. You'll take off and when you get up high enough you might feel your ears pop. You won't be able to hear as well until you swallow. You might have to do this every few minutes. Sometimes chewing gum helps. When you reach your destination you're captain will tell you that you're about to land and to buckle your seatbelts back up. You'll feel a large bump as you hit the ground and the wheels start braking. That last sentence sounded bad, but you know what I mean. You'll get off through a tunnel after you collect your carry on bags then you'll go to a luggage claim area and get your luggage. Don't be surprised if they lose it. ;)
Have fun on your trip! I hope I explained this well enough for you! Some airports differ in their sequence of events, but that's pretty much all I remember. |

Flying is not scary its just annoying. You have to be at the airport like 3 hours before your flight, it is very crowded and security checks usually take a long time. Since it is your first time flying get a window seat, it is very cool to watch and never gets old. They other annoying thing is that you don't have much rom on the plane (if you are riding coach) no leg room and its hard to get up past everyone and go to the bathroom. I think you'll enjoy it cause you've never been on a plane before. Since I have a few times it is just kind of a nuisance (but better then driving) Its still kinda cool, you'll have fun. |

Have no fear! The airport is a simple place. First, you should leave to the airport around 2 and a half hours before your flight if you are traveling within the US, and if you are going internationally, leave 3 hours before your departure time. You will pull up on to the ramp, and you will see signs that will have the names of airlines on them, for example, Southwest Airlines, Delta Airlines, America West, Virgin America, and so on. Stop at the sign that has your airline listed on it. Walk inside with all of your luggage. Walk to the desk, and you will be told what to do by the agent. Give them all of the luggage you want to not carry-on to the plane. He or she will then give you are boarding pass, if you have not yet printed it online, and some baggage receipts, just in case your bags get lost. Then, proceed to the TSA Security, with your carry-on bag. Give the TSA Agent your ID and Boarding pass. They will sign the boarding pass, and give you both items back. They will tell you which line to go to. Put your carry-on bag into the X-ray, and remove your shoes, jacket, and any metal devices including a cell phone, rings, ear rings, belts, etc. Put them in a bin. Then, put them into the X-ray as well. A TSA Agent will tell you to walk under a metal detector X-ray. It will beep if you still have metal on you. If no metal is on you, you will be free to go. Retrieve your items at the end of the X-ray. Walk to your gate. For example, if your gate is B19, walk towards the sign that says, "To B Gates", or whatever your gate number is. Sit down, and wait until boarding. Boarding will be explained to the passengers before entering.
Once you get to your destination airport, walk towards the sign that says, "Baggage Claim"; follow the other passengers if you are not sure where to go. There will be a carousel, and then once you see your bag(s), pull them off. Remember, it may take 10-20 minutes for bags to begin to arrive. Walk outside, and wait for the person picking you up. Good luck, and email me if you have any more questions.
I will assume you are flying out of Providence- correct? |

ok first ur going to pick up speed on the run way then the plane will slowly start to elevate fowards which that part is fun then the plane will turn and it is not inccomon for people to think that the plane is flalling insted ur center of gravity is just being changed once uve reached an aproprite altitude some tubulance may occur which may shake the plane genttly which is nothing to worry about it is caused by wind resistiance. Landing is fun to :) if u hear a noise coming from the bottome it is the landing gears' hydrolics opening and closing also u may notice the wings changing their angle. Over all it is nothing to worry about other than poping ears which u should just suck on some candy. Ive been in a situation that the hydrolics didnt work and that the landing gear couldnt be taken out :( however u must remember that these people are profesionals and take good pride in their work we ended up having to belly land in an texas airport. have fun |

You will want to arrive at the airport 90 minutes to two hours before your scheduled flight, anticipating crowds and lines.
You're allowed to carry on one bag, plus a personal item (a total of two bags). There will be signs that indicate what gate to use well before you get to the security checkpoints. You will have to go through a security screening, where you take off your shoes and put your possessions in a bin to go through an X -ray machine. You then will walk through a scanner. You'll pick up your articles and proceed to your gate. Only ticketed passengers can go into the secure area.
Once you find out where your gate is, head for it. Many airports have little shops and restaurants, and they are often overpriced. But since you aren't going to get a meal on the plane, it's not a bad idea to have a bite to eat and use the restroom before boarding.
Planes typically begin boarding roughly half an hour before scheduled departure and close the doors, I have heard, about five minutes before departure. They also board from the back forward. When it's your turn to board, show the boarding pass to the check-in person, walk down the jetway, put your larger bag in an overhead compartment, sit down, and put your smaller item beneath the seat in front of you. In the pocket of the seat in front of you will be a placard explaining the safety features on the plane. Find the closest exit to you. Since you are a new flyer, you should not be in an exit row.
Before you depart, the flight attendants will ensure everyone has buckled their seatbelts and turned off cell phones. While the plane is taxiing to the runway, there typically is the safety lecture that goes over everything in the placard. The plane will zoom down the runway and take off. There may be mild unsteadiness as it ascends, but it should level off. There may also be some bumpiness due to air pockets during flight.
The pilot and flight crew will inform you of any goings on. There will probably be beverage service, and the crew will explain that.
When it comes time to land, you will be able to tell--at least I am; I've felt it when the landing gear comes out. The plane will decelerate on the runway and taxi to the gates. Don't get up or unbuckle your seat belt until they tell you.
And if you have any questions or need help, ask an airport or airline worker.
Have a safe trip! |

There is nothing to worry about. Just be calm, get to the airport at least one hour before your flight and check in if you didn't online. Then get to the lounge of your plane.
Flying is very enjoying. At first, u'll feel like a bit dizzy while it is taking off but then, it gets prettier, especially if the weather is clear. If it's not, don't worry, planes are the safest mostly.
U'll see that it will be very different and special experience for you.
After you land, just get out and take your baggage and go. That's it, don't worry about anything. Have fun! |
