I heard cruise workers are super nice! So why can't stewardesses be nice, too? Both these jobs are stressful?

So to all people who stand up for rude flight attendants, you are WRONG! They are there for the passenger. I don't care if they are having a bad day. That is not my problem. And one more thing! To all of you standing up for rude stewardesses, I wanna see YOUR face when they treat YOU rudely. You IDIOTS!

Charlie, you royally suck.

They think that they can be as rude as they want. If anyone complains they can have them thrown off and arrested. "Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely"

Cruise staff expect tips so they always have to keep their behavior at it's best. Flight attendants don't get tips.

YOU are rude, and you may have a real talent for bringing out the worst in people. You received curteous answers to your previous question, and now you call us idiots. You asked the question, we gave you our opinions. If you do not want the opinions of others, DON'T ASK. We were just trying to suggest possible reasons for the problems. If you truly feel you were treated unjustly, complain to the airline, have your facts in order, have witness statements if possible. A tirade will not help.

I haven't been on a cruise, so I can't answer your question.

On airlines, if you're flying an American carrier, domestically or internationally, you're correct, the stewardesses provide lousy service with lousy attitudes.

I prefer to avoid American carriers and will do so even if I have to pay a higher price for the ticket(s). Non-American carriers provide very good to superb service; something American carriers can learn to retain loyal customers.

Ironically, it was the American carriers who used to lead the way in overall service but that changed around 1989 when I first noticed the change in services on American Carriers.

When flying to America, I enter the USA on a non-American carrier via a hub nearest my destination so I only have to fly on an American carrier for 1-2 hours (hopefully NOT THAT LONG!). And the American carrier flights are always late on takeoff/landing so I have to do the "OJ Simpson" through the airports in America; I never have these problems outside the USA.

For international carriers with great service compared to American carriers, try: British Airways, Qatar, Emirates, Singapore, Lufthansa, Korean Air, Asiana, Thai Airways, Quantas and Japan Airlines. I've found they all provide near superb service, so they are in the same class well above American carriers.

I have been on exactly one cruise, and the way we were treated by the staff is probably the biggest reason why I will not be booking another cruise for a vacation.

I'm sure there are some nice cruise staff, and I know there are some nice flight attendants. Just luck of the draw which type you get.

Allow me to use your own words, just to prove a point.

"You IDIOT!" (okay so your usage was plural).

Just because someone treats you badly does not give you the excuse to treat them badly. Your response to them IS YOUR CHOICE. The outcome is either one of two things: your reward for your right choice, or your problem for your wrong one.

You made a wrong choice by namecalling in your post. I hope if you act like that on the plane, they kick you off of it. Your first and last three statements were completely uncalled for, and you point could have been made without them.

sandy_dfw
First of all they are not stewardesses, they are highly trained flight attendants.
Second they are not there for the passengers but for safety and security.
They are there to help and serve the passengers but that is definitely not their primary job.

cuz its too hard to be nice to ppl nowadays lol

think about this cruise attendents get paid alot more..and most of the time they eat drink and visit islands for free..flight attendants are flying all day..dont usually get to see places they land and are stuck in one perticular spot with sometimes snobby customers

As always, this person is posting yet another rant, bagging on airlines.

They are probably the rudest, most self centered person ever to board an airplane, and they blame it all on the crew or companies.
