If carrying on luggage ...remember 1-3-1 rule on toiletries
One CLEAR quart size zip loc bag
no more than three ounces of liquid or gel or aerosol
and ONE bag

As far as liquid and gel....mascara counts as gel. And they mean ALL gels and liquids must fit in this quart size zip loc bag. Not Glad....ZIPLOC. They are not messing around....they don't mean....I have a blue one I'll use that...They mean CLEAR!

You'll be fine with trial size...as long as they fit in the quart size zip loc bag....TSA is not playing around with this size or color! However, smokers can now bring a lighter...and it must fit in the bag.

If you are checking your bag...have a lock with the red marking that TSA can get into....and you can pack whatever you like...except for the blatantly stupid stuff....fireworks, leaf blowers, guns, knives, brass knuckles....

well, there are differences whether its in your checked luggage or carryon

for carryon, you can't take any thing sharp or weapon-like except fingernail clippers and small scissors

checked, you can take most stuff except like explosives
also you can't transport vegetation or animals i think

I would suggest that before you travel you go to the TSA website http://www.tsa.gov/ they have the complete list of what is and is not allowed on the aircraft with you in both your carry on and checked luggage.

nothing dangerous. and no carry-on liquids bigger than 3oz or that don't fit in a qt size ziploc. check your airline's website for better info.

I flew Airtran Airways during spring break this year, and you can bring a small luggage with you (if I'm not mistaking) or a carry-on bag. Liquids containers have to be 3oz or smaller, and in a zip-block bag (closed). Any liquids larger then 3oz, needs to be in a checked piece of lugagge. Objects such as sissors, tweezers, and razors need to be in a checked piece of lugagge along with the liquids. The checked piece of lugagge, will be in the hands of the airline to go underneath the plane. Sharp objects and liquids larger then 3oz will not be allowed past security, and that's why you need them in a check bag.

In your carry-on, you can put extra clothes, cell phone charger and cell phone, and medication with your imformation on the medication container. Although I gave you this answer, you shld still ask you airline this question.
