I worked for Delta for many years and this is a common problem. You can deal with this one of two ways. If this is your outbound flight and you are over 18, you MUST have either a non-expired government issued photo ID or TWO forms of non photo ID such as a Social Security Card, Voters Registration Card, Hunting or Fishing Liscense or an original copy of your birth certificate with a raised seal, vehicle registration is a good one too, but it has to be something issued by the state. If you have an expired passport or ID, just have one other form listed above with you as well. If you have a passport, that works too. If this is your return, some airlines will let you return, but may make you sweat a lil bit or deny you all together. If you can, go to the local police department and obtain a police report stating you lost your ID if you do not have time to obtain another ID. Credit Cards, Insurance Cards, things of this nature will not count. Also, do not even bother going to a place that says they issue ID's. If it is not issued by a state government facility, they are no good for air travel. If you are going domestically, that is the criteria, Internationally...no passport...no go, no expceptions.

If you are in your hometown, go to the local DMV. Most states will have your ID while you wait, or will give you a temporary piece of paper.

DO NOT for any reason take someone else's ID. Even if you look a like. The name on the ID MUST match the reservation. You WILL be turned away if your ID is not you and the agent will document the record. The agents DO check names as well as expiration dates and for state seals and holograms. If you check in at the kiosk, security will name match your ID to your boarding pass as well as expiration dates. You could potentially get through one airport, and be stuck on your return.

If you do have to go with the two forms of ID, or this is your return, you will be a full search passenger and go through additional screening.

Call the airport and find out. Try to get a duplicate license. If you have a passpost that will do too.

you need some form of official photo id. go to the dmv tomorrow and get an id card.

Airports big and small are suppose to ask you for a photo I.D. Call the airport and explain your situation, give it a shot. As for the lost I.D. part? Hopefully your I.D. doesn't contain your social security number on it? Maybe you could contact the place that you had your I.D. made? Maybe they could assist you in some way?

Just go get another one...here in PA it only costs $9 and they already have your pic on file so you don't need to get another one taken!!!

well you have a big problem now dont you? first, did your id have your social security number on it? like some drivers license do. if it did then you could potentially be a victim of id fraud in the future, so you should contact all three credit bureaus if it did. second, you should go get new id tomorrow from the dmv. that way if you need id to fly, you will have it, and you will inevitably need id anyway.

use your siblings instead - just flash it real quick - if your not flying internationally I don't think it matters - show them your birth certificate or bring a relative

If you don't have you State issued ID or any other kind of state issued photo id( drivers license or passport or military ID) the airlines will not all allow you to broad the plane. They require that you have state issued id and wont take anything else. You can try and take you SS and you State issues Birth Cert, but more then likely they will denied you on the plane. And if your flying outside the US, then they will really denied you boarding. I would suggest Monday morning you go to your local place where you pick up id and drivers and see if they can issue you a temp til a new one is sent to you. ( In Washington you have get a new ID and they give you a temp copy of what you ID will look like til the new one arrives in the mail.
