Stay up for 20 hours before the flight and drink alcohol. Works a treat for me. |

Call your primary care doctor. Explain how anxious you are, and ask if he can provide a sedative to you for use on the trip. |

sleeping pills. The simplest yet most effective and less dangerous way |

speak with your doctor. My dad was a very very nervous flyer but he used to get some tablets that he took the night before and the morning of the flight that used to calm him down. It must have been effective as he went on holiday twice a year.
go speak with your doctor. |

I just flew for the first time a couple of years ago and let me tell you, I was scared to death to get on the plane. Once I did though it was great and it turned out to be a good experience and now I would fly anywhere and have no problem with it. The hardest part is getting over the initial fear. You should choose to stay awake and enjoy your flight. If you absolutely need something to help, try taking Dramamine it will make you sleep. Good luck and have a fun trip !! |

get some diazepam off the doc, they really chill you out and then you couldnt care less if the plane crashes, i use them every time i fly |

Make sure you get a night flight and goto sleep before take off, and when you wake up you should be almost there. That's what I did on my 11hour flight to Thailand! You can listen to radio or watch a movie on ur own personal screen to take your mind off the fact you are on the plane too, take your own decent in ear headphones you can plug into the chair for maximum comfort:p
you won't be able to knock yourself out - don't do anythin silly like that ok mate?
You'll be fine - it's exciting so just relax and look forward to your holiday.
Good luck! |

Talk this over with your doctor. He will probably give you enough Valium for the trip. It won't knock you out, but it will relax you.
I have several friends who do this. It's legal if your doctor gives you a prescription for it.
I don't have to use it, because I don't fly.
Congratulations on facing your fear(even if it is with a little help) |

Your GP will provide you with a mild sedative if you explain it all to him or her !! |

Go to yr docs and he/she will prescribe a Valium for
you to have before your flight. You will still be nervous
but it does help - honest!! You mustn't drink though!! |

I was very nervous on my first trip, a bit nervous on my second...then I wondered on the third why I had been that way. It is fear....fear of the unknown! I now get my first real buzz of my holiday when the plane begins the run to take off...the roar of the engines and the thrust that pushes you back into your seat is awesome!. A friend of mine was so nervous she went to a hypnotist and when we got on the flight she was fine...she now absolutely loves flying too.
DO NOT take pills or anything else to knock you out or you will never get over the fear...you have to conquer it somehow and I believe hypnotism is the best way if you cannot do it yourself.
Best wishes, Mike. |

Hey
I flew for the first time at the end of March without my parents and it was an 8 hour flight to Detroit...I was the most scared I've ever been in my life but trust me when I say it's not that bad at all...you don't need to worry about anything...it'll be awesome!!!

bad idea. you become a safety risk. if you are found unresponsive on the flight, it will be forced to divert and find you medical attention on the ground. talk it out beforehand. I love to fly, beats Greyhound. |

Alcohol if you are of age. Excedrin PM if not. Or you can get a prescription med from your doc. |

I would recommend hypnosis as the best solution. You don't want to arrive somewhere groggy. |

Easy, go to the dr and tell your problem. They will prescribe you a few pills just to get you through the flight there and back. And any prescription drug is legal. I work for a physician for 10 years and must have seen a thousand people come into the office for the same thing. This is very common. |

Go see your dr they can give you something. DONOT drink alcohol this can make you more anxious plus they can refuse you on the aircraft. You can try relaxation tequniques though they work, try this one i use close your eyes clear your mind and think of walking along a sunkissed beach with no shoes on and the waves gently lapping over your feet. There are many more you can try |

I too have a mobid fear of flying.
Last time I flew to New Zealand because there were two sectors each of roughly 12 hours non stop (yeah, I know!) and had acupuncture.
Expensive - yes
Effective - very much so.
A cheaper option could be Dr Bach Rescue Remedy. There is one especially for fear of flying called 'mimulus' and is available from Boots the chemist. I use this if going to Spain. It definitely helps.
Limit your alcohol intake if you can. |

lol! you remind of the hit 80's series, The A-team. That BA (played by Mr.T) was a tough bulky guy but had to be sedated every time the team had to go flying. You do have a similar hairstyle to BA, minus the bling-bling...
Try hypnosis. |
