People really do post crap answers on these Yahoo board.
You CAN fly direct and non-stop from the UK. No need to change flights on the east cost of the USA, or anywhere else.
The following UK airports have direct non-stop flights to Las Vegas.
London Heathrow
London Gatwick
Glasgow International
Manchester
These flights are operated by British Airways, Virigin Atlantic and Thomas Cook.

DanG - There are NO flights, charter or scheduled from Edinburgh to Las Vegas. Edinburgh is a tiny regional airport. I have already listed the ONLY FOUR UK airports with direct flights to LAS.
London Heathrow
London Gatwick
Glasgow International
Manchester |

Go to www.orbtiz.com and www.cheaptickets.com. Those often offer cheap flights. Or, go directly to the airlines' website, such as British Airways or Virgin Atlantic. |

I have checked www.expertflyer.com and the only "really" direct flight is Virgin Atlantic VS43 leaving Gatwick 10.45 am daily.
All other can look like a direct flight but will involve a stop which may or may not include changing aircraft.
Edit: I only checked London area
Edit2: Just to add to the confusion, direct flights are not the same as a non-stop. A direct flight can involve a stop. The Virgin flight I mention is non-stop and direct. |

Yeah, you would have to stop in New York, LA, Atlanta, Chicago...have to go via another big city. |

Virgin is your non stop answer. Try opodo.co.uk / expedia.co.uk. |

It depends on what time of the year you want to go. The only direct scheduled flight is with Virgin Atlantic from London Gatwick. You can pretty much travel with any other airline if you're willing to have a stop over.
However, if you're travelling in the summer, airlines such as Thomas Cook have regular non stop flight to Las Vegas from many UK airports like Glasgow, Edinburgh, Belfast and Cardiff.
Good luck! |

There's no way to get a direct flight. You gotta stop at the East coast. That's why you're having trouble |
