I think what you're referring to is Skybus. It's not a scam in that they're not intentionally trying to rip you off, but the $10 fares are misleading. First of all, there are only a few $10 one-way fares - most fares are higher. Also, they don't include taxes or fees, which are always a big chunk of the price of an airline ticket. So in the end, it's not THAT much cheaper usually than other airlines. Plus, they charge for literally everything - food on board (which most airlines do on domestic flights anyway). Except that Skybus doesn't allow you to bring your own food on board so you are forced to buy their food if you want to eat. Also, they charge you if you want to check bags, so you either have to bring them on board if they're small enough or else pay $5. They have no assigned seating, like Southwest, but instead of giving priority to those who check in first, they give priority boarding if you pay $10. So it seems like they nickel and dime you.

Another thing is they don't fly to very many places, and they fly out of weird airports. For example, I live in Boston, but they only fly out of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, which is an hour north. It would probably cost me more to drive to Portsmouth than I would save by flying Skybus. And finally, they also admit on their website that they don't have a customer service phone number and they also don't have many customer service agents at the airport, so it will be difficult to complain if things go wrong.

So basically, it's probably not as good a deal as it may sound, and could end up being more hassle then it's worth. Keep in mind all the fees all the costs, including getting to the airport, that you will incur.

Oh and the website is www.skybus.com

This is SKYBUS. A new airline from Columbus, Ohio.
The sale is $10.00 per seatr and only 10 seats per aircraft.
This is a promomotional fare.
They charge for everything. Checking luggage is addtional, etc.
You must pay the regular taxes as well, so the flight of $10.. may endup to $200.00.

Qu'est ce que tu pense?
Honey, if it was 10 dollars for a flight, you should know that they're trying to rip you off. It's probably not a reliable source to buy tickets from.

Are you talking US Dollars or some other Currency? No way can you get an airfare for $10 USD, unless they charge by the mile for oxygen in addition to the $10.

Okay that is REALLY CHEAP, are you sure that you are comfortable with this airline?? Make sure that it is not a type of airline that is unsafe for you to fly with.

I'm not sure of the website, but reconsider for your saftey.

Preppy!
They are trying to scam you...here was this one website that i fond and the tickets were 5.00 each and it wanted your social security # and credit card number up front ....

p.s. what is the website?

We have that $10.00 fare. Depart Columbus (CMH) 50 miles away from our town at 6:30 AM (only flight), pay to check luggage, pay for water or soft drink en route, pay for pretzels, pay $10.00 for pre- boarding if you want window seat. Then it takes you to Portsmouth NH instead of Boston...60+ miles away and not much rapid transit or rail connection. Best bet, deal directly with airline on their web page or deal with airline by phone; you might get a better deal as to airports, times, service, etc.

spirit airlines. they sometimes give em away at 1 cent a flight,.
