if you going to have a long flight. Usually they informe you when the using of a laptop at the plane is prohibited.

Believe it or not, it is totally optional. If you want to use it during a flight, you can. If you need it at your destination, by all means, take it with you on the plane. People are pretty slick in crowds, and quite often laptops are "going missing" in a matter of seconds on a plane. It could be carried off the plane by the guy in front of you, and you would never see it.

Long flight, laptops really help kill time. Music, Movies, letter writing, Business papers, etc.
