If it is a US based airline and you are departing from the US, they should be abiding by the US laws, in which case you wouldn't be able to drink on the plane unless you are 21. If you wanted a drink, you could always ask for one, and if they card you, you would be denied...and if they don't card you, they will serve you a drink. |

No, since you are flying American Airlines, the laws of the United States apply on the aircraft as well. If you were flying a Panama airline, you would be able to drink. |

No. As long as you are over American skies, you have to abide by US rules. Once you land, then have a drink.

All american airlines (by that I mean any that serve the US regularly and such) abide by United States regulations, regardless of where the plane is. You are not allowed to drink on the plane, because it is against US law. |

You can drink when you get there, but not on the aircraft. Airlines will not serve anyone under 21, regardless of where the aircraft is going. Period.

why pay 5-7$ on a drink on the plane when you can wait and have it all in panama for practically free?
since the airline is american, i doubt they will let you drink over American land and waters. sure, you might be able to get a lax flight attendant, but i wouldn't even try to avoid the embarrassment of getting turned down.
i've been to panama before, but the airport can be a dangerous place. you want to be as alert as possible during that time until you get to the resort |

once you are in international water they allow you to drink on the plane....at least they let me on my way to Mexico when I was 18.......wasn't very much time spent over international water though... |
