It depends. If you are flying same airlines all the way then it's a given but if you change airlines on the lay-over, the two airlines has to have baggage agreement otherwise you have to get the baggages and re-check in on the connecting flight. Check with airlines who issued your ticket to avoid inconvenience.

If you leave the U.S. and come back in, wherever you go through customs you will have to recheck your bags. Leaving the U.S., generally no. Within the U.S., no you do not have to recheck. They send it to your final destination. |

The best way to know is asking the airline about those specific flights, it varies depending on the country, the airport, etc. |

Nope.
Some airlines will let you make arrangements, if it's an overnight stay. Contact your airline for complete details. |

If you book both of your flights on one itinerary and you're flying domestically, then no. If you book your trip on 2 different itineraries (like you buy one part of your trip first and then buy the 2nd part of your trip at another time), you will have to retrieve your baggage and recheck it, even if you are flying on the same airline. If you're flying internationally, you may have to retrieve your baggage after going through customs, regardless of whether or not you are flying the same airline. |

you should be more speciifc. are u staying more than 24 hrs before catching another flght or just a connecting flght and waing for 3 to 6 hrs. at this airport? |

It depends... if your flight is "coded" as a connection, you may not have to collect your luggage. Usually, when your layover (or stopover) does not exceed 24 hours, you may not have to collect your luggage. There are so many different conditions by which you would layover/stopover, that I am afraid there is not only one answer. |

No its usually checked through to your final destination. The only exception is if you book a 3 or more-leg trip with stop-overs of at least a day each. If that's the case, you have to that request your luggage be checked only to the destination of each leg. |

Depends on the route (national or international), airline and if you booked your ticket as ONE itinerary! |

Yes, because you will be boarding a differnt flight than the first, unless you just have a very short stop to pick up passengers, then no. |
