Take a deep breath...

Hope the other one doesn't fail and hope that you are within ETOPS range of an airport.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ETOPS

If you have more than 2 engines, then it isn't as big of an issue.

ron971
Follow the engine out emergency check list. If you can't get a restart and you're flying a single-engine aircraft, transmit a Mayday with your position and course on your assigned ATC frequency if you're still in range or the international emergency frequency (121.5 Mhz) and run the ditching check list. Do not panic and plan for survival.

Otherwise, in a multi, feather/shut down the rotten no good piece of junk that let you down and set the remaining mill(s) to maximum range and share your miseries and intentions on the above frequencies.

Let's hope you don't have to explain a fuel starvation. <blush>

vikingaprinsessan
Depending on how many engines your airplane has, as well as the circumstances, there are different procedures. If your airplane has 3 engines or more I would think you would continue to your destination (or possibly divert to an airport as soon as you cross the pacific.) if your airplane has 2 engines, there are certain rules regarding flying a plane with 2 engines over large surfaces of water (ETOPS - see link below). Basically, when you are flying a plane with 2 engines, your route must be about 180 minutes from a location you can divert to.

oxymandia
Almost nobody goes there with only one engine. The ones who do, carry life rafts.

Your fate will decide.
