Smoking is the most childish habit in the world. One step up from wetting the bed.

No one starts smoking as an adult, they all start as children trying to look older and cool. Smoking has never looked cool, because only fools smoke.

You can take one regular lighter though TSA Security. If you try to light up on the aircraft, like in the bathroom, you will be put off the plane (the bathrooms have smoke detectors), or met by the cops when you land.

I work for American Airlines. No TSA will not take the lighter out of you purse. They can look thou your purse but they will not say anything. If you are worried that they will do this. Just take matches. That way you can put them in your pocket and don't have to take those out of your pocket. Hope this helps.

Last off all of the people that are saying that you can't take a lighter on board with you as of August 4, 2007 you can take lighters on board any aircraft. Look at this web site if you do not believe me.

They probably would but not because you are fifteen, but rather because some security officials even deem a simple lighter a possible weapon for would-be terrorists.

I have just been on holiday & the signs at the check in desk say that lighters can be carried on the person but must not be put in luggage in the hold.
When you go through the security check point then it may be an idea to go through a different one to your parents as you will have to empty your pockets of small change & anything metal. These are returned to you on the other side of the check point.
Better to buy a lighter on holiday or better still to stop smoking now.

TSA will no longer ban common lighters in carry-on luggage as of August 4, 2007. Torch lighters remain banned in carry-ons.

You can also carry-on cigarettes. However, I would recommend put both in your checked luggage because you are underage.

Lighters are allowed BUT you shouldn't be smoking @ 15 or at all. It will kill you.

If your parents dont know how do you explain the stench of smoke on your clothes, in your hair and the stench of your breath? By lying to them?
Stop damaging your body and your soul by lying and give up smoking now.
As for the airports, you most certainly will NOT be able to take a lighter on board, if you ignore the signs that tell you to put your lighter in the bin you will be found out when you walk through the barriers that set off alarms. make no mistake THE AIRLINES WILL FIND ANY SUBSTANCE ON YOU THAT YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE. They are not as dumb as your parents, you wont be able to fool others so easily!

They could well do.Some do,some don't.However if you discard your evidence before going through,you can buy another cheap one in WH Smiths inside the terminal.How stupid,but there you are
