Until I was told to get off. The flight crew would have no motivation, other than safety and on-time performance, to keep anyone on a plane.
The pilot has the same authority as the captain of a ship. Passengers are required to obey the lawful orders of the flight crew, and can actually be restrained for refusal to do so. |

Until I feel my suffering was so great (for example getting extremely ill), that I would risk being arrested. You don't get to insist anything, and if you are belligerant, they restrain you and the police are waiting to arrest you when you get off. |

It depends on why the airplane is not moving, and the projected time that a problem might be fixed, and of course the reason you are stuck in the airplane.
Most airlines will allow you to get off if they know that the problem is going to take several hours to fix. |

No more than 2 hours. The last time I was stuck it was because they were deicing the wing in Milwaukee in February. I can stand the wit if it involves the safety of the passengers and crew. To be stuck because the runways are backed up is inexcusable. |

Considering the fact that passengers have been stuck on airplanes for up to 8 hours at one point, I think it really does differ on the airline company. You should call any airline to make sure if you are uncomfortable about it. |

We were stuck on one once for 4 hours (Honolulu-Tucson, got grounded in Phoenix because of "Servere Rain"... wtf? It almost never rains here!) in the dead of night. so if I'm desperate enough, forever =) |

Not to long! I hate being stuck anywhere for a long while! I would only stay for about 20-25 min. before I would want to get off unless it was a like 5 more minutes later! |

It depends if I were away from home I would stay on for as long as they would let me...lol but on my turf 1 hour is the max. |
