This is United Airline policy (they are all different)

12-17 years (Optional)
Unaccompanied minor service is available, but not required, for this age group. We strongly recommend that teenagers who are not using our unaccompanied minor service be confirmed on flights early in the day. Unanticipated delays or cancellations and unexpected weather such as fog, snow, thunderstorms or air traffic congestion may disrupt flight schedules and result in misconnections. If delays result in travel the following day, United may not be able to offer overnight accommodations since many hotels will not accept minors aged 17 or younger. If unaccompanied minor service is requested, standard fees will apply.

If a child aged 12-17 years is traveling as an unaccompanied minor, he or she will be accepted under the conditions specified for unaccompanied minors aged 8-11 years.

You need to check with each airlines website some will not accept unaccompanied younger than 16. Good Luck.

Call the airline and see what their policies on Chaperoning are. The fee is normally higher, and you have to have someone pick you up at both ends.

As far as I know United lets teens (13-17) fly alone

You would be called an unaccompanied minor and you have to be escorted by someone with an i.d. unaccompanied minor is usually from about 5 years old to 16 years old. The stewardesses will give you special treatment and help you off the plane.

Passports work as IDs. You can go; you need your parents consent and you'd probably go as an UM (unaccompanied minor).

hey sweetie, u can def fly by yourself with permission of your parents/ or guardian consent u must fill out a form and your locall airport.
last year i sent my son that is 7 to Ecuador with his sister, and aunt and they were only 14.

You can ask for unaccompanied minor status and someone from the airline will escort you off the plane and to your destination in the airports along the way. Check out the website of the airline you are wanting to fly with and see what their rules are.

You can do it but you will be travelling as a UM - unaccompanied minor. This means that your aunt will ensure that you meet up with a flight attendant who will look after you at the airport and on the plane (or maybe a different one will - but you will never be without an adult looking after you.) At the destination airport, the attendant will make sure that the right adult picks you up at the airport - your parent or guardian - and will check their ID to make sure it's ok for them to get you.

Airlines are quite familiar with this - it happens often. You will be fine. Enjoy the trip!

Ally
You have to have an escort if you're under 16. It's called being an unaccompanied minor. A passport is an ID in a way... Someone needs to travel with you or you have to pay a fee for an escort.
Edit: Or go with your aunt or someone 16 or older that can chaperone you. (United States)

Well if you're aunt is considered one of you're official guardians then you can travel with otherwise unless you have an official I.D. you can't travel by urself.

i think all you need is the passport

your passport should be enough of an ID. if you are concerned, call the airport you would fly from.
