Your parents do know you're going, right? You will need a credit cart to purchase tickets. Call Southwest. 1-800-IFLYSWA or go to their web site http://southwest.com/. Their unaccompanied minor age is 12 and under. There should be no problem with you flying alone. My 14 year old daughter just did.

I was able to arrange flights for my daughter from the US to the UK with her traveling alone.
I used the chaperon service for which I had to pay extra of course but there isn't an issue itself with children flying alone at your age.
There's something more here you aren't telling us.

Have your parents buy your tickets then they will need to tell the Airlines that you are a Unaccompanied Minor. So you might have to pay extra to go on the flight alone.
You also will have to verify and tell the airlines who will be picking up and dropping you off to go on the flight.

What do me mean by "denied?" Kids fly alone all the time.
Try calling the airlines and ask what specifically is the problem and how can you resolve it.

At 14 your considered a unaccompanied minor but all the major airlines have programs set up which would allow you to travel without someone 18 or older with you. Bear in mind you'd have to pay an additional fee but you can find all that information on the airlines website.

you have to have a parent do it you are not old enough to buy a plane ticket

Do you parents know about that??? You ar not telling the whole story.
A simple latter from your parents/guadian should suffice. And let the airlines know about it too.
