Im planning a trip to california, oceanside! but cant find it when i try and book. am i doin sumthing wrong?

Hi....I LIVE here, about an hour away from Oceanside and let me tell you, SAN DIEGO and OCEANSIDE are pretty much the same thing. Alright you can fly to San Diego then go to Oceanside by bus, taxi, shuttle or drive there. You take the 5 freeway and should be there in less than an hour. Don't go through the hassle of going to another airport and doing this and that. Oceanside is just outside of SD and is where they have the Armed Forces stationed. Many cute marines and navy guys but that's besides the point. You will be FINE to fly into San Diego. Hope you have a great time! If you go into Mexico to party (Tijuana), make sure to check out Rosarito Beach. Be careful but have fun.

I flew into Carlsbad (CLD) before. It's a small airport, and I believe the only major airline that flies there is United (from Los Angeles). You can go on United or one of its partners from London, nonstop to LAX, then CLD.
Since there are no nonstop flights to San Diego from London, you may as well fly into LA. Why make more connections just to make it to San Diego and then still have to find your way to Oceanside? I myself don't mind driving (it's SoCal!) but will you even be renting a car? A taxi ride from San Diego to Oceanside is quite expensive.

go to british airways they should have a non stop flight, but any real airlines webpage you can get reliable tickets since it is there website

If you are entering Oceanside into a search engine for airline tickets, then nothing will show up. There is no commercial airline service to Oceanside. It's about halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego, so try either of those.

You should be able to use Oceanside when searching for hotel rooms.

Expedia.uk is a reliable website for flights from London.

My sister and her family live in Aptos. OK, you say, so what. Well Aptos is a very small town on Monterrey Bay in Santa Cruz County so when I fly out to see her I just type in "cheap flights to the USA" and see what comes up. I've done the Heathrow to San Fransisco and then the prop-jet service run by American Eagle down to Monterrey and the Heathrow to LAX and the same prop-jet service up to Monterrey. If you are not flying to a main airport you are gonna have to travel on from wherever you land to your destination.

With the traffic on the Interstate, Carlsbad Airport is a very much better bet than San Diego. You will easily save a pile on gas and parking! Plus, there is a bigger choice of carriers from London to Los Angeles, where you can get a connecting flight to Carlsbad.

San Diego is the closest. Next try SNA (Santa Ana), or Ontario. If you go through LAX, you'll be driving for six hours to Oceanside. Seriously.

i live in orange county so try flying into john wayne airport and renting a car to take the 5 south freeway to oceanside which is 40 minutes from orange county.
