Dawn, airplanes are a safe way to travel. Millions of people fly every day. There are more people killed by trains hitting cars than die in aircraft accidents.
If water will help you, then take an empty water bottle with you in your carry-on luggage, and after you go through security at the airport, fill it at a water fountain.
Try and relax and enjoy your flight.

Are you on a plane now....that's the only reason I can think of for your atrocious spelling and grammar... |

they can give you water on most airlines or you can buy it once you go through security and they will let you on with it. jetblue can for sure inflight. bring your ipod and put it on when you get on the plane. i fly all of the time and i don't even notice the things that used to scare me anymore. distract yourself and you will be fine. don't think about it. a doctor can probably give you some kind of medication to knock you out or help your worry, but you seem somewhat young so i'm going to guess that they will try everything BUT that. good luck! |

Statistically, traveling by air is one of the safest forms of transportation. You are much more likely to be killed driving/riding in the car on the way to the airport than in an air accident.
If you mean tilting as in a rolling motion [if you are looking forward, rotating clockwise or counterclockwise], that is just the way planes turn. That is necessary. If you mean little bumps and such, that is just some minor air turbulence and the plane is designed to withstand it.
To huckelberry58, the planes rattle and shake.. but so does your car. When you hit turbulence, the plane rattles a little and changes direction. When you hit a speedbump in your car, it rattles a little and changes direction.
Air travel is very safe. The safety requirements for aircraft are much more stringent than for automobiles. The training for pilots is much more difficult and intense than for drivers of automobiles. So, just relax. If you really need to fret and worry, do so in the cab ride from the airport. :)

What did a plane ever do to you to cause such hatred? Maybe you just need to give the plane a chance. I'm sure it's a lovely plane, and if you would just get to know it a little better, you will probably get along fantastically!
In the future, might I suggest that you not be so judgemental! |

Honestly you have a better chance being struck by lightning, make that your new fear instead then it will be easier for you to board a plane |

When I'm scared I find it helpful to take a deep breath, relax everything, say everything that is on my mind that i want to say, and keep on convincing myself that everything is going to be OK. I used to be scared of planes until I took 3 planes to russia, nothinga going to happen, it's best to have someone to talk to and not be alone. |

I too am afraid of flying. Whenever I must fly (emergencies only) I take an Advil PM or Tylenol PM about 1/2 hr to 1 hr prior to boarding. This will put me to sleep right after take-off. I just use the over the counter stuff because I don't fly that often. You can get something from your doctor to ease the stress of flying if you don't want to use the otc meds. Good luck!!! |

You can speak to your doctor and have them prescribe an anti-anxiety medication for you. |

Well acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to help people get over fears, quit smoking, and lots of other things. Go research it and see what you think. My dad's clinic does it so I have tried it and I promise it doesn't hurt one bit. It actually kind of tickles. Oh and my oldest sister used acupuncture to get over her fear of flying...as for me I plan to be a naval aviator so i dont have that problem : ) |

If I were you, I'd be far more scared of my inability to spell and form a comprehensible sentence than of an airplane.
Mile for mile, air travel is the safest on the planet. |
