you have a higher risk dying in a car crash |

Flying is very safe. You have a better chance of being in a car accident, run over by a car while walking down a road, or being struck by lightening....than being in a plane crash. |

the simple statistics that show how infrequently a major commercial airfcraft crashes should be a major point of emphasis... |

yes flying is safe...consider how many plane crashes you hear about in relation to the number of car crashes in your state alone....the reason plane crashes come on the news more than car accidents is because they happen less frequently |

Well, I flew right after the 9/11. Most had canceled, only 15 on the jet. It was scary but we made it safe to Europe. Wind turbulence hit the plane as we were about to land and turned our plane up sideways. I knew we would be safe, why?
Because I have a rule: If there is a plane crash, wait, there will be two more. After the third, I know it is safe to fly then. But as others say, yes it is dangerous, but isn't everything? To live life you must take chances....... |

You have more of a chance of being in a car crash than you do in a plane crash.
Go to google and search flight crash statistics and car crash statistics. |

Check out Airsafe.com
Has a record of every commercial plane crash ever recorded. This could be useful to point out how few plane crashes there really are. |

Nothing is 100% safe. But the chance of dying at a plane accident is so small each time you fly, that not flying is relatively equally unsafe. You can get hit by a car or by a falling road sign or sth. even when you walk! |

Talk about how with all the technological advances used that it is much safer than it was when planes were first used for passenger transport. The most dangerous times for flying are the take off, the landing, and any severe weather or severe turbulence. Other than those flying is actually pretty safe now a days. |

Flying is safer than any other type of travel. |

In the US, maybe 1 passenger plane crashes a year. Meanwhile there are thousands of car crashes a year. |

Yes. If you are travelling by plane you have only 0.000000061 chance of crashing. Travelling by plane is 10 times safer than travelling by car. |

The world is not made out of nerf. And it is not forgiving, at all. People die.
Gather some statistics, how many flights per day, how many people, compare to how many people die in car crashes, or even from a slip and fall.
More people have died falling off ladders than in plane crashes.
Get some numbers, and keep track of the sources as proof. |

they have all kinds of figures to say how safe it is but i cant help but think it has to be the worst way to die...for at least 5 or 10 mins everyone in the plane knows they are going to die...how terrible it would be to look at the terrified faces for that long knowing they will die....
i will walk or swim |

Statistically, yes. However, if a car breaks down on the highway, you can pull over and flag/call for assistance. If a plane breaks down, you are nearly 2 miles above mountains/earth. So.... in other words, you're ****** if something happens to the plane.
Regardless of my view, stasticially yes flying is very safe. |
