Is hair wax considered a liquid?

I was traveling next week and wanted to carry on my wax for my hair. I was wondering if it was still considered a liquid for the 3-1-1 rule.

Also, if I do happen to find a smaller container is it okay if it's not new?

Call the airline. They will have the information you are looking for.

private_jet_charter
No it is not considered a liquid but it will be considered a "gel" so it will have to fall under the 3-1-1 rule and must be under 3 oz. and packed in the clear zip lock bag.

just label the container "Plastic Explosive"

BA Girl
if you look on the airlines website, it'll show you a list of what you can't take.

Does it fill the container you put it in, or does it hold it's own shape?

Wax is usually in solid form when not heated. It becomes liquidy when it is heated to a certain degree.

Peter K
It will be included in your allowance. You can transfer it to a smaller container to hold just what you will need.

Check the FAA website to get the latest info. Toothpaste isnt liquid but is considered under the rule so I would not be surprised it hair wax is there too.

Actually it is solid. But dont place it in your hand carried bag to avoid the hassles in the airport.
