Who can actually tell what is in the can just by looking. That much of a liquid explosive (nitroglycerin for example) could do enough damage to the fuselage to cause a violent decompression and crash.

It's not the Fanta or juice they are concerned with. Terrorist will disguise explosive chemicals in innocent looking containers to avoid suspicion.

Because "If" you are a terrorist it won't actually be Fanta in the can will it - it will be some kind of liquid explosive. As for the comment about people not having their shoes taken off them - they do it in Gatwick Newark NJ, Aberdeen and Heathrow (only ones I've been to recently.
I do agree that if a terrorist really wanted to blow a plane up, there is nothing that could stop them. The only reason there has not been another terrorist attack is because they have chosen not to do it. However the risk of being involved in a terrorist attack is tiny compared with being killed in a car accident or dying of cancer. It just makes the government look as if they're doing something which gets them elected. Telling people to stop drinking, stop driving and eat more veg doesn't go down to well with the majority of voters.

EDIT: if u own the FBI then u already know that yes u can make an explosive with a can of fizzy drink..and if its put in ur luggage it can burst under the compression

No. It is just there so that it looks as though the governments are protecting you from terrorists. You could line your shoe soles with plastic explosives and detonate it with an I pod if you wanted but you don't see people having their shoes taken off them. There is no way to stop terrorists other than stripping everyone naked before they get on a plane. It would be fun but at the same time impractical and a little disturbing if you were seated next to an old woman. Therefore the government targets the methods that are commonly known by the public to create a feeling of safety. The truth is that if someone really wants to take down a plane it's pretty easy to do.
