I doubt it. I believe that in California, 18 is the minimum age. Most likely, because you can't buy tobacco until age 18, so why would one need a lighter. |

I used to work in a gas station, and I wouldn't sell lighters to minors. But, that was mostly because I hated my job, and took it out on almost everyone that came into the place. |

It depends where you try buying it from. Some people will be nice and let just anyone buy a lighter regardless of what age they may be. Avoid going places that are busy or have older women or nerdy looking jerks. They won't sell it without an i.d. |

As long as you are at or over the legal age of 18 I suppose, by all means it is legal to buy lighters at any stores with the presentation of your valid ID. As to the fact one looks 13 or 15(in fact, you are at the legal age), it is unnecessary worrying, has nothing to do with its legality. |

Depends by state. Where I live you have to be 16. Also, some stores have their own policies. I think in North Carolina you have to be 16 to buy one with fuel in it and 13 to buy one without. Something like that, it varies by state and store policy. |
