Yes it is okay to carry those on a plane!
You can also use them as long as it's during the times the crew tells you it's okay to use them, which is anytime other than takeoff, landing, and maybe some others. |

Yes you are allowed to bring both items on the aircraft with you, you just would not be allowed to use them during take off and landings, but the flight attendants will inform you when it is ok to use electronic devices.
