It's not that bad. The chances are pretty low that something will happen. I've been flying for most of my life and so far so good, knock on wood. It can be pretty frightening, I can understand that. I hope that everything works out well for you. Have a safe flight!

i am alive
I dnt think it is, but i have never travelled by plane.

It's not scary at all , if it's your first time and you think you have a plane-phobia , take a first class trip , you spend more money but you would enjoy your trip and you would loose that phobia ,the best thing to do in take off and landing is having a very nice music played on your mp3 player or Ipod . good musics are :feel(robbie williams) , Cat setevnes (some songs) &... and after thet you can make yourself busy with the food .Bon Voyage

It can be a little intimidating to fly but once you get used to it, it's not bad. For me, the worst part is turbulence, although the more I fly, the less it bothers me. It's very common for the plane to run into turbulence which makes for a bumpy ride. If this happens to you, don't panic; some of the bumps can be very big but they won't cause you to crash. A friend who is a flight attendant explained that turbulence is for the air just like waves are for the ocean, and sometimes the pilot does not know in advance that he's heading into waves; it's invisible. But planes don't crash from turbulence--- if the air is too rough, the pilot will climb higher or go lower to avoid it.

Also remember that plane crashes and hijackings are really, really rare, and that's why they make big news when they happen. Carjackings, bus crashes, and car accidents happen every day!

Just keep in mind, the airline spent a LOT of money to buy that plane and they really want it to land safely so they can fill it back up, fly it again, and make more money. The pilots, mechanics and ground crews are all working very hard to make sure the plane gets back safely to the ground.

No, it's not scary (unless something does go wrong, but that's VERY unlikely) just sit back and enjoy the view outside the window, especially at night when you see all the lights! :)

scatz
It is statristically more probable that you would die whilst crossing the road, so if you feel safe doing that then don't worry about flying.

zanthus
Its is natural to feel afraid. Don't worry though.
Planes can fly throgh anything. The chances of something bad happening are so small, it is not worth worrying about.

bty
Not really, it is like being on a bus really. the only slightly scary bit first time is the take off. Thats simply because the pilot is giving the engines plenty of power to get you up there. After that it is a little boring to tell you the truth. You will enjoy it. Don't be scared.

No it is not scary. You have more chance of being hit by a car than dying in a plance crash. Do not fear. In fact, it is quite a boring thing having to sit in one seat for hours on end eating bad food. Make sure you take a good book and an ipod with you.

not at all..

I just love to get on a plane im always excited of visiting a new country especially when things get a bit tiresome and need a short break. Ive travelled lots but if its your first time its natural for you to wonder as many answsers have said you stand more chance of being knocked down by a car on the road than a plane. The views from the skies can be breathtaking both leaving and landing. On most flights you can usually watch movies before they are released. Relax have a good flight and let us know how it was when you return. lol

eva
No its not scary at all.
i hav travelled from plane atleast 30 times or more and trust me its boaring

I've gone on a plane lots of times. It's pretty much like going anywhere else. Just be sure you go in the little closet that says "lavatory."
