Tickets bought at the last minute are extremely expensive. Your best bet is to buy your tickets at least 14-21 days in advance. |

No. You can pay as much as 8x over someone elses ticket for a last minute ticket. Tickets bought months beforehand are much cheaper. |

you ru the risk of getting kicked off of overbooked flights, or there not being any tickets left, though usually, to most cities, it is much more expensive to buy last minute tickets, sometimes 8 or 9 times the normal price of a 30 day advance purchase. |

The only last minute bargains are whatever surplus inventory they may happen to have. That can mean Barbados this week, Cleveland nxt week, and nowhere the week after that.
The risk of waiting to the last minute is that it may be very expensive, or may be impossible, to go a particular place. And even if you don't care where you go, there may be nowhere to go for cheap at a particular time. |

i've found from experience that buying airline tickets at the last min are much more expensive. no risk if you have cancellation insurance. |

It all depends . . some try to get rid of the seats and sometimes they raise the prices as they get fewer seats. <-- because people will pay for it <-- it all depends on the route
The risks are basically that there might not be seats left and well they could charge you more. |
