Sylvia

Is it true that there are at least 3 dead people on each plane in the cargo?

I heard from a few people that this is true.

And not just on cargo planes.

True or Myth or Lie?
I'd love to know the truth :S
Additional Details
IM NOT TALKING ABOUT LIKE,

PEOPLE SNEAKING DEAD BODIES ON THERE!
i mean that they fly the bodies back to their family or hospital for students to dissect.

if a family decides that they would like their deceased relative to be buried somewhere else, they will ship the body. Major Airlines ship bodies and do put them in the cargo bins. I know for a fact that US Airways does this because I work for them. Not every plane will have a dead body in it.

depends on if someone is sending a dead body or not sometimes there could be 1 either 0 3 or maybe 5...my family just sent my grandmas body from LAX to the east coast...... i bet people didn't know she was in there!

jenna222
yeah. how else would they get deceased family members etc. across the country, the world etc.?

Well.... it is a good possibility. Because deceased people are always shipped by cargo on passenger planes. But it's usually on larger planes that can accommodate the size of the containers.

When a person passes away, they may be buried where ever the family likes or it was pre-determined by deceased which is often not near where they pass away.

For example, a person might pass away while on vacation in Hawaii but he has cemetery property in Orlando, Florida and always planned on being buried there. A mortuary in Hawaii will arrange a flight to transport the deceased from Hawaii to Orlando, FL. Because this is a last minute booking err... shipment, the deceased will expect layovers in Los Angeles, CA and Pheonix, AZ before heading out to Orlando, FL. And I am definitely not kidding about this. I used to work for a mortuary/cemetery and I would input all the information to arrange the flights for the dead people.

So, yes there is a possibility that 3 dead people are on the same flight as you are on.

If you die far from home, then yes your body may well be flown back for burial.
I never handled 3 on one flight, but it is possible, depending on the size of the aircraft.
Yes, they do travel in the cargo/baggage hold.
People also carry the ashes of deceased on flights to scatter at loved places.

The key words in seeing whether this is truth or nonsense are "at least three." So, if there aren't three stiffs aboard, they have to go (you should excuse the expression) dig one up before the plane can take off? No, that makes no sense.

Maddies Mommy
Yes and they will turn into zombies and come to life and eat you. LOL JK. NO Idt it is true

I'm sure there are a couple coffins down there. I know some people who have family members flown across countries to be buried in their home country or something. And they used commercial airlines.

Whether or not it's THREE. Well, that's a statistic to be validated, lol.

ThePhobosopher
yep

maybe

you can never prove something doesn't exist!

but how would you "sneak" a dead body on? hmm....if it was over 50 pounds, you would have to pay extra....so I guess you could cut it up into 50-pound chunks and distribute it among several pax...

This would be a very expensive way to move bodies willed to research. As to shipping remains for burial, though, yes, it happens all the time (and the plane doesn't have to be that big to accommodate a casket; American's MD80s, for example, work just fine). "at least 3"? I doubt that sincerely.

That is a myth. It's very very rare for there to be anyone in cargo. They X-ray the bags.
