Most airline employees (not only flight attendants) are given travel benefits in the form of free flights for their use as well as their family members every year, in addition most major airlines even provide interline travel on other partner airlines at discounted rates. They are called ID tickets for example: an ID 90 ticket will require you to pay only 10% of the total regular fare, some airlines refer to it as "zone fare" or zed fare but basically they are one and the same dicounted tickets on varying rates which you choose is your option.

I saw a colleague in the airline sporting a shirt witha slogan printed on it " Marry me and fly free!" makes sense dont you think?

Yeah, but according to one book I read, you have to sit on the jump seats, and you can be bounced many times if someone needs a seat.

Well yes...

If anyone (including a flight attendent) works for a airline they get free flight + there family.
there parents get about 90% off wife and kids get free flights.

smikoats
Depends on the airline, but most do. Some even give your family too.

i think so because if not then the attendents would prbably quit because it would cost them alot.

you pay 10% or 25% depending on the destination. usually standby, so you have to wait until all the other passengers have got on. OK when it is the airline you work for but other airlines give their own staff priority.

(and you are supposed to only use the jump seat if you have had the safety training for that model of aircraft)

A major benefit for working for an airline is free flights for yourself, your spouse, children and parents.

Yes.
First 4 themself + hasband +(father/mother+their kid 4 discount)
But in details r up 2 each airline cause some low cost might not.
Anyway major airlines do have good benefits 4 their staffs not only the flight attendant.
