Even though the price of fuel has dropped, the airlines have flown fewer flights. Therefore there are less seats available. However if travel continues to slow, don't be surprised if airline tickets start to fall. Right now people are starting to think about whether or not to take that trip since the economy is in a recession.

the rise in prices is usually seasonal aswell, this is currently a on peak season, which means that there are a lot of people who want to travel now, so the tickets are more expensive, i usually fly in offpeak times, you get some super cheap tickets then. seasons change every 3 months.

I think travel supply & demand will have more to do with this than price of oil. For example, holiday period bookings are weak, so airlines have announce fare sales at a time when traditionally you had a hard time finding a seat at any price....

Bear in mind that the airline industry is trying to dig itself out of a very deep hole (and more than a few have called it quits already). Any opportunity to stash some cash, they are going to do so, and really, who could blame them?

as i believe due to the credit crunch and the fact that people cant afford to go abroad the ticket prices have gone down already travel agents and airlines are begging for people to use them so they have had to make flights cheaper

my advice is to shop around for flight prices

Surely you know the old saying, 2 up 1 back?
They will reduce then from the hiked rates to a lower rate which is higher than before!

We are all cheering that the petrol has dropped below £1/litre to +/- 93p/litre forgetting that that the world was going to come to an end a year ago if it went through the £1/litre level!

Ehhh I wouldnt count on fuel prices staying so low, it was only so cheap because of this up and down economy we have going on now. But that group of big oil people in the middle east( i forget what they call them) just had a meeting to discuss the low oil prices soooo I'm sure it will go up again soon. However, if we even out then naturally plane tickets will come down a bit, who knows, maybe in a few months we'll even get free drinks on airplanes again!

The more Travel companies go bust, the cheaper the fuel will get! I don't think it'll get much cheaper though.
