Not at all- most airlines in fact only require you to be 5'2". I don't know what your friend meant, as I travel BA pretty often- I'm 5'4" and have always been able to reach the compartments... I've also seen F/As who are shorter than that, both on BA and other airlines :) |

It's not true at all, maybe BA has a 5' 6" requirement, but all airlines are different, some have minimum reach requirements and some have shorter height requirements. Although you do need to be able to reach into the overhead bins, I don't think you need to be 5' 6" to be able to. Most airlines have links to careers on their websites, you can see for yourself what the different airlines FA requirements are. |

Yes this is true!! And all airlines will have maxmum and minimum height restrictions in place depending on the aircraft fleet they use! Think about it. What would you do if you had a fire in one on the overhead compartments and couldn't reach it.!? Can't say for place where there are shorter people! Maybe higher heels!!!!! LOL |

Just like the military has min. and max height requirements, so do the airlines. its almost a kind of handicap if your too short or too talk to preform your job, ya know? |

i believe so.. as for Malaysia Airlines regulation.. you have to be at least 5'2" for girl.. and 5'6" for man to become F/A... |

As already reported, height minimum/maximums vary from airline to airline. They range from 5' to 6'. Airlines who operate smaller aircraft will be looking at the low end, airlines with larger aircraft will be looking at the high end. You're not out of the running...you just might not have as many choices as taller applicants. |

I have two friends who work for America West, one is 5'5 and the other is 5'10 (both are guys). FAs for that airline only need to be tall enough to close the over head bins.
Perhaps it's a requirement for BA, but not all airlines. |
