A few years back "Jet Blue" had the program but with this economic madness they discontinued it as Most of the Major Airlines.
But, here's some important information you may look into and I Know you can benefit from.
Contact them just in case, and I pray and hope you get some help:

Also Airlines with bereavement program:

My family and I wish you the very best, and we're sorry you have to go through such hard time.
Our best wishes to you and to your family.
Hold on there. Time is the best healer even if at this moment it seems so impossible.
My God bless you, your family, and your father.

Unfortunately, you can only get bereavement air fare prices once your father has passed on ( I was in a similar situation 2 years ago - and I researched this extensively). And most times they will REFUND you (not at time or purchase) the difference once you've taken the flight.

These airfares are only available by contacting the airline directly. You will need to supply them with date of the funeral and/or copy of death certificate and you will need to get an affidavit from the funeral home

I've found that finding a bargain airlines like Frontier, ATA, SouthWest, Us Airways - are usually cheaper than the bereavement airfares of "name brand" airlines like American, United, or Delta.

try sites like Expedia or Travelocity to see what the bargain airlines are charging, or call them directly.

Most discount airlines do not offer this option. If you are willing to pay top dollar for a flight, you may be eligible if you can provide the paperwork (I think they actually want a death certificate)

Continental does have a discount, however I don't know if that would help much. Check it out, it depends on the price of the ticket, I think it's 20% over $1,000 or so.

Sorry about your father. Hope this helps.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. xoxoxo

I believe Delta still has them. Try this website for a bit more info.

One site I found says to call the 1-800 reservation phone numbers. They do not advertise the bereavement fares. I'd also try Orbitz, LowFares.com and those types of places.

You can ask either of the major airlines when you call .
I remember one did when my Dad had died , but I couldn't even afford that fare so I didn't get to go . Call the 800 numbers and they can give you the information you are requesting .

If your father is dying you really don't know when the funeral will be........sorry........you have to wait to make the arrangements.....

They do but thee discount is normally off the full fare, so a normal fare from Expedia is still cheaper.

I don't know if they do any more since the gas crunch. Figuring a way to get there must be very stressful for you. I am starring this so maybe some of my contacts might have helpful ideas.

Jess
I've never heard of that... unfortunately, they should have one

consider taking a train.... amtrak is getting really cheap!!! and there's always grey hound...

here's some tips for getting that airfare down....
- try southwest airlines
- go to an airport that further away
- use regional airports and more connections to get the price down
- take a really LONG connection
- stay over on saturday night
- alter trip days +/- one day

my condolences....

I know most did but given the down turn in the finance world Im not sure if any do now, you may want to call the airline and see if they do offer them. one method I have heard others refer to is if you buy a ticket for the same day you are more likely to get the cheaper fare only because you are ready to go then (believe this is the most common policy with most) good luck and hope some of that can help
