Sounds like it will make for a good memory. Why not. Maybe you should find something to do while your there, even if it will only be for a few hours. Go see a show or something. Go get a picture with that space needle. It sounds like you would have a whole day there anyways, leave after friday and come back sunday. Plenty of time to get cool pictures, and do some cool things. |

"ROAD TRIP"! |

Taking a trip like this just so you can say you've been in a country sounds pretty dumb to me. I could understand the quick in and out if you had friends or family there. But what in the world are you going to do with just a few hours in a place you've never seen?
Rather than taking a quick trip to Canada, do something like fly to New York or Boston to see a Yankees/Red Soxs game. Go to Disney World for a day. Go to New York to see a Broadway play. Catch a baseball game on the east coast and then fly to the west coast to catch another game. Any of those sound more fun to me than a quick trip in and out of another country. |

You go! It's such a good opportunity :) |

I guess it really depends on whether you are spontaneous, an adventure seeker, can enjoy the moment? Do you have lots of energy for a short trip? If you don't know the answers to these questions there is only one way to find out?
I have flown to Chicago for a two day trip and had a blast visiting a close friend of mine living and working downtown. She had an absolute beautiful view of downtown Chicago from her apartment. We drove around chicago, had dinner and went dancing. I had an absolute blast! However, I did not get much sleep though.
I have taken a road trip with friends to Canada. We had fun hanging out together and stopping off to see the sites. Niagra Falls is absolutely beautiful and worth the visit! We also decided to drop a few coins in the slot machines at the Casino and a friend won some money! She bought us lunch on the way back. It was a good laugh since she was thinking not to go with us... lol.
If you don't go will you 'regret' it?
When an opportunity arises in my life I go for it because you never know if it may come again. A short visit for me is better than never visiting a place at all...
After you see a place you might decide that you liked it so much that you would like to go back for a much longer visit.:0) |

Of course you should go. What's the beef? |

Heck yes! Even if it's only for an afternoon, it's a chance to hang out with your big brother, and do it in a different country!
Besides, your dad's deal is a good one--passports are cheaper than tickets. Take him up on it.
Have fun! |

Go for it.
It would be better to spend at least 8 hours and see something -- just a few hours is only enough time to have a Starbucks at the airport -- find a Tim Hortons (at least). |

Why not? Nothing wrong with a little silliness. Some people I knew had friends who worked for the airlines. They had enough "miles" that this one single dude would take a date across the country to New York, for dinner. Have fun!! |

Different parts of Canada offer different things to do so I would recommend that you plan out the trip and find out what things you want to see and do. I think it would be good time spent with your brother. I think you will enjoy your trip. So yes, you should go. |

It is good that you want to go. Would you rather hear about the trip from your brother or actually be there? I know if that was me I would rather go with him. So what are you waiting for. |

Do it. Don't miss the opportunity.
A few years ago my wife and I flew from Sydney to Auckland in NZ for a long weekend. We had won tickets that were going to expire, and neither of us could get away from work for longer at the time. Our friends thought we were mad.
We ended the weekend eating a fantastic meal overlooking the refurbished Auckland fishing boat harbour watching the running of a heat of the America's Cup preliminary races on a big screen on the wharf.
I don't think we could have had a more interesting experience. If we had been 'sensible', we would never had that. |

Why not? Wouldn't you hate to find out someday that you're dying and you never got to see a lot of things? Me and the little woman went to Vancover about a month ago. It's a must see in my opinion. |

why not ? you get to be with someone you love even if it means that you have to have passport to be with him.
it is a small price and you are blessed to have his love and he yours - so enjoy being together as long as you can before the tides of time make him more unavailable (today it is work and soon it will be wife then kids )
And hey, even if you get to be in Canada for a few hours, you can have the pleasure of calling your friends using the pay phone instead of making long distance calls ;-) and call me too !! |

I would hardly say its stupid. Maybe not enough time, but it will give you a chance to travel, see something different, and it might give you a good reason to go back. |
|

Hello xoxo

It's a waste of money to travel and only spend a few hours at someplace, because you don't really have enough time to see anything.
But if it's really that rare for him to have time off work, then I guess you might want to go. |

Go for it, Girl!
Would be far better to spend more time and take a look at things.
But, you're only young once, and life is for living - to the full.
The opportunity may never come your way again, but if it does, you'll have a much better grounding in how to do it, and what to do. |

I guess its quite stupid because you can only do limited things at a very short period of time, but hey! Life is about taking chances and maybe, just maybe, you'll have the best hours of your life out there! And at least you'll know whether or not you want to go back there again...

What is the point in going to another country if you don't even make it out of the airport? That sounds like a big watse to time and money. |

Ya only live once, and if your brother is that important to you... awww..
But think of this: Canada sucks. It's an ice bowl with a few trees and some tundra. What of any real value or renown have you ever heard about coming from Canada? lol |
