Corona

Is this normal? I'm starting to panic a little. I booked our flight online a few weeks ago and went?

to the section where you can pick your seats and there were plenty to choose from. Tonight I went to show my son where we were going to be sitting on the plane and every seat is filled. EVERY seat!! I haven't flown since I was a kid and for some reason seeing all those seats filled is making me freak out. It seems like it is going to be wayyyy to crowded in there! Is it normal for the plane to be completely full??
Additional Details
I'm not talking about "bombs", I am talking about not being able to breathe because there are too many people on the plane. I don't think your allowed to talk like that by the way.

It is very much so normal for the plane to be full. Certain routes fill with tour groups others are always full due to time of day or year. On occasion schedule changes also can cause a plane to fill fast. The other thing is 3 carriers filed Bankruptcy last week. If you are a person that needs space I would try to get aisle seats across from one another. Have a great trip.. Not knowing your age you will be shocked at the changes.

Yes completely. Airlines will often over book there flights as well because there is a likely hood that someone will not be able to show up. Don't worry though your definitely on the plane. Planes, especially in coach are crowded but you should be fine. You should have received a conformation e-mail that you are on the flight. If you have any questions contact the airline provider.

Is this normal? Yes
Is this TOO crowded? Technically no
Is this a good thing? Possibly yes.
If you are not totally tied into having to be at your flight's destination at a certain time this may present you with a great opportunity to be voluntarily BUMPED. If you are a little flexible with your arrival time you can volunteer to be listed as a voluntary bump. In the past couple of years my wife and I got bumped (voluntarily) from a flight from Paris (this got us a paid hotel room- at the airport Hilton no less-- 3 meals and 300 euros EACH for spending an extra day in Paris...oh drat! We even volunteered again the next day for the same terms again... I could make a pretty good living that way....). Last month we were voluntarily bumped on a flight from Memphis to Detroit. Left 2 hours after our initial booking, made our connection in plenty of time and were awarded $300 credit towards another flight in the next 365 days... not a bad deal for spending a couple of extra hours in Memphis instead of Detroit...

Most flights are full these days. However, flying is much safer than any other form of transportation, especially driving.

if planes were not full, they would make no money. that is why the over sell flights. if you need seats for your son, you can call the airline and they will do their best to move the seating around, or you will have to change them at check-in.

i have been on flights that were trans atlantic, and i mean big 777 planes, and they were FULL, and nothing was wrong, more or less people doesnt really matter, you should be fine... enjoy the trip.

Dan
there all usually full or almost full thats the only way they can make money

With American canceliing 1000 flights today and more tomorrow that is possibly why the seats are full. they are putting people on other airlines.
