Jamaica vs cancun? |
my mom and i are PLANNING on going on a vacation, but we're not sure where to go. we had planned on cancun, but we've called a few hotels and hardly anyone speaks fluent english, and if they do, they screw everything up (hotel bookage, etc).
so i'm wondering which is better for summer vacation? jamaica or cancun?
and how far is jamaica FROM cancun, approximately? |

Take a cruise to both places. My brother did and he loved it. He would go back to Jamaica and Cancun over and over. Stay on the ship that is your best bet, don't book any hotels. Save your money. Book a Caribbean cruise! |

Cancun beats Jamaica ANYTIME! i have been both places, and thought that Jamaica was a waste of time. I have heard from other people that Jamaica is only good if you book an all-inclusive, like Sandals, and stay away from the downtown areas , etc. |

There are advantages and disadvantages to both places. In Cancun, you'll be able to leave your hotel and wonder around. Jamaica is so riddled with crime that most tourists just stay in their hotel compound areas and go on guided (and guarded) tours. Both are beautiful; I prefer the Jamican beaches, but that's just a matter of taste. In Jamaica, of course, they speak Jamaican English, while in Cancun it's Spanish and some English.
From Cancun to Montego Bay is about 600 miles. |
