I spent a whole semester disecting Jet Blue as a company. They are very similar to Southwest in price at least, but that's about it. Their amenities are second to none for price aware consumers. They offer in flight satellite TV and extra leg room to mention a couple. If you have a choice, take JB all day. Hope it helps.

JetBlue has televisions on every seat, and it is free. The in-flight entertainment on that airline is award-winning. Southwest has no in-flight entertainment, but I would go with the airline that is more convenient with price for you.

I would say you should at least try JetBlue. It is a great airline with lots of legroom (compared to other airlines), satellite TV and new aircraft.

They are both roughly the same, so I'd probably go with Southwest. I am not the most confident flyer at times, so I feel much safer on Boeing aircraft - which means Southwest.

If you are spoilt for choice with similar airlines. Then, see which time of leaving suits you best.
Remember that you will almost certainly have a contract which stipulates that the airline has all sorts of rights, where your 'safety' is concerned will be their greatest claim. International security is another.
No one wants to have their safety infringed but I am convinced that certain airlines, when they have a problem. desperately try to make it look like they are doing you a favour.
