Where does the "wind" or gas come form? If it starts in your body and if it could lift a jet 10 feet, how far would it lift you before you let it out. |

NO - ABSOLUTELY NOT.
Funny question though...........:) |

Neil someone is really pulling your leg!!! If you have ever flown on a long haul flight you will know that if this was true the aircraft would be flying near the moon!! the air pressure makes the body pass wind more frequently and when they open the door of a 747 after a long flight the smell is disgusting. |

taxed till i die,

If you consider a jumbo jet full of passengers,All breaking wind the plane would end up in space. So i would say your question is incorrect. |

I think it is just that all the other passengers sit further down in there seats to avoid the smell so it seems like the planes risen. |

No, Jet Aitliners cabins are pressurized and therefore all the air/gas are regulated...I think you get the drift |

Being a physicist, the answe is yes. It adds more pressure to the cabin, therefore forcing the plane to go higher in altitude. The more people that break wind, the higher the plane will go. It's a proven face. Just ask any pilot or aeronautical engineer. |

Yes ...after breakfast on a Virgin redeye I stood up to make my way to the toilet, the captain announced turbulence and when I defacated the plane had a spasm.!!!.Mere coincidence,,,well!!! |

yes it was scientifically proven by a mad man on beans |

Huzzah for Israel!

That is just plain stupid, pardon the pun. It would have to be a pretty large fart for that to happen... because a certain amount of air has to be excreted, and it has to be enough to make the Aircraft have more of an upward thrust. It would have to be one powerful fart. |
