Id suggest getting some kind of game boy. and as lame as it sound try playing pokemon, its actually quite fun.

after that, try suduko, or bring a laptop. many time the airlines have wireless internet so you can get on the internet and do work, school, stuff, games or whatever

oh, and what i do is i try to get up and walk around as much a possible. even though i didnt have to, i usually get up at least once an hour to go to the bathroom

Listen to an MP3 player, read, bring a portable DVD player, do crossword puzzles, do word searches, make friends with fellow passengers, eat, sleep, stare out the window, look at magazines, order from the sky mall, bring a laptop.. etc...

1. watch the movies they show.
2. read a book.
3. bring paper and pencils to draw with.
4. chew gum lol.
5. look out the window.
6. play a handheld game system (gameboy, psp, exc)
7. talk to people.
8. eat!
9. bring coloring books and crayons and color!
10. text your friends.
11. listen to music (if you dont already have one, get an mp3 player. they are absolutley the best thing ever.)

Do anything you normally enjoy (reading, drawing, handheld games, etc.), but there is one thing I absolutely do NOT recommend: sudoku! Don't let its popularity fool you; unless you're a mathematics professor, it's a total nightmare to try to figure out and will actually make the trip seem longer.

I've done a lot of long flights. Mostly, I sleep because I don't like reading or watching the videos - which are just about the only options open to you.

Some things to avoid: alcohol and overeating. Every 2-3 hours, it's good to get up and stretch your legs and if possible, just walk a little in the cabin. Many airlines have videos with in-flight exercises that you can do in your seat, too - and they're worth the effort even if you might think you look silly doing them.

Wear comfortable clothes and drink fluids.

My favorite things to do on loooong plane ride:
people watch
reading a book or some trashy magazines
knitting
watch a movie (bring your own so you have better choices!)
listen to music
read some travel, history and other info about my destination

Listen to music via an IPod; if you have a laptop, you can play games on it. Read magazines or a book; start up a conversation with someone you're attracted to that is sitting near you. Drink alcoholic beverages.

ipod! if you have a video ipod buy movies. read a book, magazine, draw pictures, braid your hair, kick the person in front of you's seat, pick your nose, shave your armpits, anything to pass the time =]
