I must be the unlucky one, got delayed by 27 hours from LHR to the isle of man once (its only a 1 1/2 hour flight) my next longest was from Tenerife back to London Gatwick, at delay was 25 hours in total.
All good fun (NOT)
Hope your husband gets back OK. |

we had a delay of 7.5 hours.... we were travelling from paris to boston (then on to new york)
BUT then we missed our connecting flight, so got further delay due to that.
then the airline lost our luggage, so we had to wait 1.5 hours at the airport to fill in forms etc & leave.
in total we probably had 12+ hours of delays. we didnt get our luggage back for 3 days (they sent it to orlando by accident)....and we were only on a 5 day trip. it was awful. |

in Aug 07 i went to La on British Airways where it was the flight back to London that was so awful.
everyone boarded on time but when the captain tried to start the engiene it wouldnt start.
they made us sit on the plane for the whole duration while repairs where carried out on the engine.. which took 2 hours
....
what was worse about waiting for so long was that we had NO air con because the plane wasnt on.. imagine sitting on a plane with hundreds of strangers and no windows.. everyone is a breath away from each other and everyone sweating like animals because theres no air con.. it wasnt nice!
....
oddly the captain took it upon himself to entertain us while we were waiting for the engine to be fixed.. rather than comforting us and letting us know the progress of the repairs.. instead he decided to tell us how its best we wait for a long time to get the repairs done, because its either that or we would end up dead in the ocean... he actually said this. and i remember my little sister who was 11yrs old just looked at me and began to cry because she thought we were going to die
now i thought that waiting on the plane for 2 hours would have been all the waiting we would have done for that day but when we landed in UK and went to luggage... BA had problems letting the bags out.
so they made us wait 3more hours just for our bags.. what the hell.
well its safe to say im never flying BA ever again!! |

9 hours, we were in Sydney waiting for our flight back to Melbourne, the weather was horrendous and I'm surprised we did fly out when we did, never seen wind and rain like it. |

6 Hrs at Heathrow, but that was because my original flight landed late. Back then, luckily, they had a smoking section. Nowadays, tough cheese. |

26 hours. I was flying on BA last October, on a scheduled LHR-HKG run and a sick passenger just got worse onboard. We were forced to land in Irkutsk, Russia. We had to spend the night in Russia and then continue onto HKG the next morning. It was crazy, but fun! |

9 hours before flight from Dublin to Lake Garda due to cabin sickness? Ya wa? We had not left the airport . We were given 5 pounds to spend in the airport for the 9 hours. They cound not make up there mind whether it was cabin sickness or several other problems . It was really flippant.
Second time delayed on BMI flight whilst on board. We never got off ground because they were having a problem with one of the escape shoots. They cound't fix it or replace it so they offloaded a % of the passengers. Took 3 hours. Missed my connecting flight as a result. Had to completely change my travel plans involving 3 girls alone at night on a dingy train through Italy.(We missed the last Eurostar i think) and never recieved a cent compensation for any of it.
Connecting flights have always been a nightmare. I hate airports i think you are treated like crap |
