STOP PANICKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are only going to be in the air for an hour.... forget taking gadgets for distraction. You don't need them. Just enjoy the experience.
You sound scared of this flight.... don't be. There is no need. You will have a great time..............
When you get on the plane, try to get a seat near to the window. The seats near to the emergency exits have more room for your legs.
You will feel a rush of acceleration as the plane goes down the runway. The runway will feel a bit bumpy, this is because runways have grooves in them to drain the water. At V1 (when the nose comes up) you will be sitting back in your seat, at V2 (when the plave leaves the ground) you will be sitting at a steep angle, and the engines will be noisy. You will feel the plane rock and sway a little, this is completely normal.
You will hear some clunks and bangs as the undercarriage is retracted, and the flaps are reset for level flight, the engines will be loud as they will be on around 90% power during the initial climb.
When you reach cruising height and speed, the air is a little bumpy, a bit like driving on a slightly wobbly road. this is perfectly normal.
As you descend, you will feel the nose of the plane come down, and be aware of a bit of vibration as speed decreases towards landing.
As landing approaches, you will hear some clunks and bumps as the undercarriage is lowered, and the flaps and spoilers are set to their landing positions. This is perfectly normal.
The tone of the engines may rise and fall as the plane approaches landing. The engine speeds are controlled by computers which will select the optimum thrust with auto throttle. This is completely normal and absolutely nothing to be afraid of.
As the plane touches down you will hear the tyres screech momentarily as the wheels have to "catch up" with the speed of the plane. Again, totally normal.
When the plane lands the engines may scream a bit, this is because they go into "reverse thrust" to slow the plane down.
You can amuse your kids by
1. Asking them what they can see from the windows and in the plane, maybe play "I Spy" with them. Clouds are magical at 30000 feet.
2. Ask them to listen for the wheels coming up/ down.
3. Tell them that there are fairies in the clouds and that they may see one if they look close enough....
You are allowed to eat.
It is not scary.
Have fun.
I hope this helps.
Don't be afraid. Airlines have a set maintenance routine for planes which is much stricter than your car. Imagine your car needs a new set of spark plugs.... these will be replaced at 30000 miles on your Ford Focus.... imagine that when your car is serviced, they replace the whole engine instead of just the spark plugs.....there are lots of back up systems too so that if one fails, the flight crew can rely on other systems to get you home safely.
Don't worry.... you will be fine. |

just sit back and enjoy the flight and stop pannicking You will be fine Wot a lot of questions .buy the kids a comic at the airport and a bag of sweets they will probably fall asleep anyway.you will not be sick even though your ears will pop suck on a sweet ...this will help.and it is not scary ..When you land you will laugh at your fears. honest |

Many electronic devices are not allowed to be used through various portions of the flight.
I have never heard of a kids travel pack and never recieved one when I was a child.
You can eat on a plane. Most airlines provied you with a snack (i.e. pretzels) and a beverage during the flight.
Your ears will probably pop but it shouldn't be painful.
Where you want to sit is up to you. Kids usually enjoy the window seat. Then they can look out and see the clouds. I don't recommend a window seat if you are afraid of heights.
You shouldn't feel sick unless you get motion sickness. You might have a few butterflies in your tummy if you are nervous.
I usually sleep the whole time I am on the plane. It makes the trip go by much faster. I recommend that if possible. |

You can tape your iPod and laptop on flights, though neither can be used on take off and landing, flying is wonderful and honestly once you have done it you will be desperate to go all over the world on flights, suck some sort of boiled sweet on take off and landing to stop your ears popping, if you do feel sick which is rare you have sick bags on the pouch at the back of the seats, its generally long haul flights that give kids activity packs to keep them occupied, though you can buy them on short haul flights but they work out about £4 each so that's a big chunk out of your spending money, honestly by the time you get yourself settled in your seat and have had a good old nosey round at who else is on the plane you'll almost be in France, its a wonderful experience is flying, you have a brilliant holiday and enjoy yourself, good luck. |

first; your English is appaling.
Second; its like being on a modern coach.... just dont look out of the windows... watch the telly screen... all you feel is a gentle accelleration, and then youre up.... to france, 20 minutes later and your coming in to land...
or as my first flight pilot said when i asked if planes crashed very often... nah... only once... and i was in a crop duster with 9hours on the clock...
buy some kwells for motion sickness... or pop half a valium... |
