You do not need a passport to travel between the Uk and the Republic of Ireland..... I know I'm an Irishman living in the UK. Also Irish citizens can sit in the English Parliament as English citizens can sit in the Dial.
So sorry xxmexxx you are wrong |

If she is a US citizen she needs a passport to fly to Ireland and to get back in the USA. Sorry, no passport, no getting on a plane.

Ireland may not require a US Passport or Visa. However, when she comes back to the US, she will have trouble getting back in.
You can go down to a US passport office and get a passport issued within 24hrs in most cases. , so if you think it will take weeks, it won't.
Here's a link to the US Passport Office: http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html

No.
Unless she a British citizen traveling to Ulster County (Northern Ireland- which is part of Great Britian) she must have a valid passport to enter Ireland. If she is a US citizen and travels to any other country, she must have a passport in order to re-enter the US. |

Depends if it is the Republic or NI, if it is NI that will be fine for the Republic you will need one I think.
Her best bet is to fly to NI and then get a bus or train to the south. |
