A wonderful chance to travel the world, without many of the pitfalls of other "glamorous" jobs. I hope she is prepared for how hard a life it will be... having to wear a smile and friendly manner all the time she is in the air. If she can physically handle flying, and likes working with people, it could be a dream job! Don't pour cold water on her dream... unless you think she really hasn't got what it takes. There are so many things about to discourage young people, and so few prepared to encourage them to "reach for the sky"!

walter c
YES. She will get to see the country and the world.
Reguardless of 9/11, flying is still the safest way to travel.

It's a good move it it makes her happy bit to me it's just a waitress in the sky.

Agnes
sure its a job, not the safest of them but a job is a job and she'll be able to travel the world

Well she chose to do it so she must have gone through some deep consideration. If I were you I would trust her intuitions I don't think she would purposely choose something for herself that was a bad move. I have an aunt who was an airline hostess for many years and she made good money, got to travel, met nice people, had a stable life, and loved it! I am sure everything will work out fine for your granddaughter just stand behind her and let her know you trust her choices!

Ummmmm, how old is she? You know that as long as she is mature and not in the stereotypical stewardess mindframe then she could do a great job. The only time the job is bad is when they start doing things like helping smuggle drugs in the country, or sleeping around with pilots and getting married to short czech men for money... then yes she will have a great job YAY!!!!!

Confused?
i thinks its really good! a job is better then no job let it be cleaning the streets or owning the biggest company! atleast she get off her back side unlike MANY LAZY people!! good on her! you should be VERY proud!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm, if its a good paided one, like british airways, qantas, emirates or qatar airways yeah thats good, but not easyjet etc, not bad paid, and also like for her health it could be a risk!

I assume that she would get PERKS, like free flights everywhere, free peanuts, meeting new people, probably pays decent, and she would be protected, air marshalls, pilots are now carrying guns also for protect. I'd say it would be a good learning experience.
