My husband has VERY long legs. What is the best airline to use without paying for first class? |
We will be going to Vegas in February. Is there a trick to getting a seat on that row that seems to extra wide? Is one airline better for leg room? I walk with a cane...will that get us any special treatments? We don't want to pay for first class but he needs to be comfortable. Help! :-) |

Show up early for check in, maybe 3 or 4 hours early, and ask for exit row seating when you check in. I need the stretch room too! |

there are two ways....first find an airline that offers business class...its less than first but roomier than economy....the second is cheaper...find an airline where you can not only book on line but also do seat selection....you will want a seat that is next to an emergency exit...there is always more room there |

having a cane will enable you both to board before everyone else w/ the parents w/ small children.
1/ you cannot get seats in an emergency exit row due to cane...
2/ try united airlines which has an economy upgrade you can buy which has seats w/ more legroom.....maybe other airlines do also...? |

The first thing I would do is call the airline, inform them of your flight status and tell them of your situation - including the "walk with a cane". They designate "handicapped" seats either in the bulkhead row, or an aisle toward the front of the aircraft.
Check out this website for a detailed description of each airlines / airplanes seating pros and cons.

Any airline but ask for the aisle seats so that he can stretch his legs, which isn't possible with window or center seats. |

The aisle of an exit row would probably give him a bit more room to stretch out. However, airline staff may keep you from sitting in that row because they need you to be fit in case of an emergency. |

chose any airline then ask for the exit row seat. it has a wide leg room. |

The first row (bulkhead seats) and the emergency exit seats have the most leg room in coach, of any airline.
I'm 6'7". I know! |

All of the people advising the emergency exit rows should bear in mind that it probably will not be allowed for them if one person is using a cane. Airlines generally require that persons seated in the exit rows be mobile enough to assist in an emergency, which is not likely the case in this instance.
I also don't believe that any US airlines offer business class to Las Vegas in any configuration that has first class, business class, and coach. If it's called business class, it's likely a rebranded first class sold at a more premium price.
That being said, the best options are either the bulkhead row -- the first row of coach, which has no additional seating in front of that row -- or the Economy Plus section of United Airlines planes, which offers several extra inches of legroom at the front of the plane for a small additional charge. (The last time I flew United, I believe they wanted about $30 extra per ticket for the E+ section.) |

Try jetblue. All seats are couch class but all seats are designed with extra space. In fact they have a 36" of leg room and better than a first class. And, all seats are equipt by an entertainment system. Check out the website http://www.jetblue.com. |

Fly Southwest, where you can pick your own seat and sit over the wings at the emergency exit, the seats face eachother there. |
